Every year around Amazon Prime Day and the October Prime Big Deal Days event, Amazon offers a few ways to earn Amazon credits (which you can use on Amazon purchases). Historically, these Prime Day promotional credit offers start a week or more before Amazon's biggest sales, to give people time to earn them before the sales start.
As Prime Big Deal Days (Oct. 8 - 9) approaches, we're seeing some early ways to earn credit to take shopping during the sale.

Get a $15 credit to spend during Prime Big Deal Days when you add photos to Amazon Photos (new users only).
This offer is only for new Amazon Photo app users who are also Prime members. You'll need to earn your credit by Oct. 3 at 11:59 p.m. PT, and the credit expires Oct. 9 at 11:59 p.m. at the end of the Prime Big Deal Days sale.
The Amazon Photos app gives Prime members unlimited photo storage and 5GB of video storage. If it's your first time ever using the Amazon Photos app, here's how to get the credit:
Download the Amazon Photos app.
Make sure you're signed in to your Prime account.
Upload some photos.
You'll get your $15 credit automatically in your Amazon account within four days.
Earn an instant $150 digital gift card with approval for an Amazon credit card.
If you're interested in applying for an Amazon credit card, Amazon is offering a sign-up bonus in the form of a $150 Amazon promo credit when you sign up for their Prime Visa. You can use this card on Amazon, Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods, Chase Travel, and anywhere Visa is accepted. You'll only get the gift card if you're approved for the credit card.
To apply, you must be a Prime member and logged in to your Prime account. It only takes about 15 seconds to get a decision. Yes, seconds.
Note, this offer applies only to new card members.
Past Amazon Prime Day Promo Credit Offers
We'll be keeping an eye out for any promo credit offers as Prime Big Deal Days gets closer. Here are some we've seen during past Amazon Prime Day events that could return again in a similar form:
Get $10 in Amazon credits when you add $100 to an existing Amazon gift card.
Watch for this offer as Prime Day approaches. You can sometimes earn Prime Day credits when you reload your pre-existing Amazon gift card with at least $100 (based on past years' offers). Generally, it has to be your first time reloading your gift card in order to get the promotional credits. You can also only use this deal once so there’s no infinite money hack.
Get $6 in Prime Video credit when you spend $30.
As Prime Day nears, look for Amazon to offer free Prime Video credit with a minimum spend. You can then use your credit on other digital content at Amazon. Pay attention, though, as these credits generally have an expiration date.
Get $5 in promotional credit when you buy a $50 Amazon gift card.
Around Prime Day (and the holidays), Amazon typically offers a deal where you can earn promotional credits when you buy certain gift card deals. This is a Prime member exclusive offer. You'll have to add the deal to your account; otherwise, it won’t apply to your purchase. The most you can earn is $5, even if you spend more than $50. And you can only redeem the offer once per account, so there's no way to double up on the deal. Our advice? If a similar deal pops up this October, send yourself a $50 Amazon e-gift card. That way you can use the gift card balance for your Prime Day purchases, while still getting that extra $5.
KCL TIP: Buy a $50 gift card, get the $5 promo credit (when available), and then, once you’ve spent that, reload it with $100 to get the extra $10. You’d get $165 for just $150!
