Some promotions last the entire month, some are just for one day. Personally, I recommend bookmarking this page and using it to update your wall calendar. And while you're at it, make sure you add a reminder to redeem these birthday freebies on your special day.
We share a month-by-month rundown of the best freebie days out there, from scoring free food at restaurants to National Park free days, no matter where you live. So if you’re hungry or looking for something fun to do, there’s plenty you can look forward to.

January freebie days are all about national parks, gyms, bagels, and popcorn.
Free throughout January
January is the time of year when many Americans make resolutions related to health and fitness. That’s why it’s the perfect time to take advantage of the free 3-day pass at participating 24-Hour Fitness locations across the country. If there isn’t a 24 Hour Fitness location near you, check out the one-month free trial for ClassPass. ClassPass lets you try out multiple studios and different workouts in your area to find your next favorite sweat session.
January 15: National Bagel Day
If you’re all about working on your carbs as opposed to your core, check out Panera on January 15, National Bagel Day, where their MyPanera members will get a free bagel with any purchase. Joining Einstein Bros. Bagels’ Shmear Society will also earn you a free bagel with cream cheese just for signing up.
January 15
Kick off the year by exploring the great outdoors at one of the many national parks across the U.S. On Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, January 15, entry fees are waived so you can explore some of the most beautiful sites completely free of charge.
January 19
Pop into any participating Doc Popcorn location on January 19 for a free bag of their Better Butter. If you’re heading to the movies instead, participating AMC theaters offer a free refill of their buckets of popcorn on National Popcorn Day, too.
Freebies in February include DQ Blizzards, chips & guac, bagels, and cherry pie.
February 1: National Texas Day
Texans will want to celebrate National Texas Day on the 1st by downloading Dairy Queen’s Texas DQ Mobile App, which will get you a free Blizzard available at participating locations.
February 2
If you live near a Bruegger’s Bagel location and are a part of their Inner Circle program, check it out for free offers on the company’s birthday, February 2. Plus, when you sign up for their program, you get a free bagel with cream cheese!
February 13: IHOP's National Pancake Day
While National Pancake Day is typically celebrated anywhere between late February to early March, this year IHOP is starting the party a little early. On February 13, you can get a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes from 7am to 7pm.
February 20: National Cherry Pie Day
Celebrate National Cherry Pie Day on the 20th of this month at a Baker’s Square restaurant to sample their self-proclaimed “Best Pie in America” for free every Wednesday with the purchase of an entree and drink. If you’re jealous of the Midwest-based deal and live in California or Arizona, check out Coco’s Bakery, which also has a Free Pie Wednesday (with the purchase of an entree).
March freebie days focus on wedding planning, Italian ice, credit scores, Pi Day, and ice cream cones.
Free throughout March (and all year): National Credit Education Month
March is National Credit Education Month, and what better way to celebrate than by checking out your credit score? While it used to cost something, these days, you can monitor your credit report, and FICO scores totally for free.
March 1: National Wedding Planning Day
National Wedding Planning Day is the 1st, so take advantage of some wedding freebies by starting a wedding registry with Crate & Barrel–when you complete a registry with them or receive items off your registry, you’ll get freebies from brands such as Le Creuset, All-Clad, Nespresso, and Wusthof. Bed Bath & Beyond has a similar program for couples with freebies from Lenox, Cuisinart, and Calphalon, among others.
March 14: Pi Day
Celebrate Pi Day on the 14th by signing up for Sbarro’s Slice Society rewards program. With the purchase of a drink, you’ll get one of their XL NY slices of pizza gratis.
March 20: Free Cone Day
Late in March is Dairy Queen’s Free Cone Day at participating locations, where you can satisfy your sweet tooth with a cone of their vanilla soft serve.
Late March: First Day of Spring
Rita’s Italian Ice is helping their customers count down the days with free Italian ice on select days toward the end of March. This year, the first day of spring falls on March 19th.

April includes Tax Day freebies, plus library programs, trees, and pretzels.
April 7: National Library Week
Celebrate National Library Week beginning on April 7. A free public library card these days will get you way more than just books and magazines. Think museum passes, workshops, events, and streaming services. In some cities and states across the U.S., more unusual things are up for grabs to borrow, like tools, ice cream machines, musical instruments, and fishing equipment.
April 15: Tax Day
Tax day isn’t a fun day for many, but Kona Ice is hoping to ease the pain with a free Kona Ice on their “Chill Out Day.” Find a participating truck on their website.
Remember to shred any important documents, too, with a free 5-pound shredding offer at Office Max. Check out their website to nab the coupon.
If you’re looking for a free way to release some of the tax tension, check out Planet Fitness. They are offering a free HydroMassage on select days in April to help members and non-members alike “file away the tension.” Also, be sure to check out their free 1,040-second long workout in the spirit of the 1040 tax form.
April 20: National Park Week
The sun is starting to shine more, and getting outdoors is just what we need after a long, dark winter. If you missed out on exploring in January, lace up your sneakers and explore our nation’s parks for free since the 20th is the first day of National Park Week.
April 22: Earth Day
Earth Day is celebrated annually on April 22 and many companies offer environmentally friendly freebies. For example, Madewell gives out free jeans when you recycle a certain amount of old pairs.
April 26: Arbor Day
Just a few days after Earth Day, many communities celebrate by giving residents free trees to plant in their yards. Look up “free trees + your state” to find your way to cleaner air.
April 26: National Pretzel Day
If salty snacks are your thing, check out a Wetzel’s Pretzels location on National Pretzel Day, April 26, to get a free pretzel. If you sign up for Auntie Anne’s Pretzel Perks through their app, they’ll give you a free cinnamon sugar or original pretzel today too.
May freebie days include Planet Fitness summer passes for teens and comic books.
It’s May and you’re wondering “what’s free today?” Here’s where you can find freebie days this month.
First Saturday in May: Free Comic Book Day
Free Comic Book Day is always the first Saturday in May. This year it falls on May 4th, aka Star Wars Day. So head on over to a participating shop to snag your favorite superhero stories.
Mid-May
If you have teenagers in the house, encourage them to take advantage of the Planet Fitness High School Summer Pass, which takes place from the middle of this month through August. Teens ages 14 through 19 can work out for free at any of its more than 2,300 locations in the U.S. and Canada.
June freebies are about donuts, movies, bowling, fishing, and moving supplies.
Throughout June
June kicks off the busiest time of year for moving, but did you know you can get free moving boxes, labels, and other goodies from the USPS? Check out their website for more details. For larger boxes, head to your local grocery store, as they will frequently have boxes for the taking that make moving much, much easier. Head there early in the morning or late at night for the best selection.
All summer long
Strike out (in a good way) with free bowling through the Kids Bowl Free program. Running nationwide, register on their site and get two free games of bowling each day, all summer long.
Wednesdays all summer long
Join Showcase Cinemas for their “Bookworm Wednesdays,” where turning in a book report at a participating Cinema de Lux, Showcase, or Multiplex Cinemas box office will get them, siblings under 6, and a parent into a children’s movie for free.
First Friday in June: National Donut Day
We can’t think of a better way to ring in summer than with a free glazed donut from Krispy Kreme. Sign up for their Krispy Kreme Rewards program to receive promos, news, and of course, a free donut for National Donut Day, which is the first Friday in June.
To satisfy your sweet tooth, even more, head over to the national chain Duck Donuts, which also offers customers a free donut on National Donut Day. Dunkin’ and Chicago-area chain Stan’s Donuts offers customers a free donut with a purchase today too.
Late June
Most states offer free fishing during certain weekends in the month of June (Father’s Day weekend is popular). Check out the list of states and dates to forgo a fishing license for some quality time with your family.
Freebie days in July focus on chillin’ with Dippin’ Dots, hot dogs, movies, and, of course, Slurpees!
All throughout July
The Original Hot Dog Factory will celebrate National Hot Dog Month by giving away its All-American dog in late July at all of its U.S. locations. Check out their website for 2024 dates.
Cool off in the air conditioning at participating Phoenix and Paragon Theaters this summer. They show select movies for free through August on certain days of the week.
July 11: Free Slurpee Day
We can’t write a list of freebies without mentioning 7-Eleven’s Free Slurpee day, on, of course, July 11th or 7/11.
Third Sunday in July
If you’re still hungry after your hot dog, check out select locations of Dippin’ Dots. On the third Sunday in July, they give away free mini cups of their unique ice cream in celebration of National Ice Cream Day.
National Avocado Day: July 31
Who says guac is always extra? On National Avocado Day, when you sign up for Chipotle Rewards, they’ll give you a free order of chips and guac on the house. You can also score free guacamole from Rubio's and earn triple points on avocado menu items at Potbelly.
Freebies in August are about the outdoors, books, and museums.

Weekends in August
Celebrate Family Fun Month in an extra special way if you’re a Bank of America cardholder. That’s because their “Museums on Us” program enables you to visit one of over 225 museums across the country for free during the first full weekend of each month.
August 4
On August 4, celebrate the anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act by getting into any national park for free.
August 9: National Book Lover’s Day
A day just for those book worms out there. August 9 is National Book Lover’s Day, and what better way to celebrate than with free books? Check out shops in Virginia, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Michigan, Baltimore, Chicago, and Denver. You can also find pop-ups through local libraries or Little Free Library locations in other cities (or start your own!) by checking out their website.
September freebie days include National Public Lands Day, National Coffee Day, Museum Day, and Dentistry Day.
The entire month of September
Museum Day happens every September and is an annual celebration hosted by Smithsonian Magazine. Participating museums and cultural institutions across the country provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket.
September is also Self-Improvement Month, and what better way to celebrate than with a free makeover at Sephora. Locations across the U.S. offer 15-20 minute services like how to perfect a smoky eye, apply false lashes, and perfect your pout, all for free!
September 9
Free Dentistry Day is usually on September 9, but there are events year-round to help your smile shine brighter, including free dental cleanings. Check out the website to locate an event near you.
September 24: National Public Lands Day
Get ready to enjoy the fall weather near you — September 24 is National Public Lands Day which means you have yet another opportunity to take in the beauty at one of our great national parks.
September 29: National Coffee Day
Perk up with free coffee and special deals for National Coffee Day on the 29th. Dunkin’ loyalty members can enjoy a free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase. Wawa will give its reward members any size hot coffee, Krispy Kreme is giving away free hot or iced coffee, Panera is giving coffee away for free for parents and caregivers, Peet’s will serve a free small drip coffee with any purchase, Barnes & Noble will give you a free tall hot or iced coffee with the purchase of any baked item, and La Colombe has a buy-one-get-one deal on its website.
October freebies include roller skating passes, coffee, hair styling, and donuts.

Roll into October by celebrating Roller Skating Month for free! Young skating enthusiasts (and their parents) will love the free skating days offered up by the site Kids Skate Free. Simply register and grab your passes to roll up for free at one of the many locations across the U.S.
Every Friday in October
On a road trip? Be sure to stop into Cumberland Farms, Loaf N Jug, Turkey Hill, Tom Thumb, Minit Mart, Kwik Shop, Quik Stop, Certified Oil, and Fastrac stores for their “Free Coffee Friday” every Friday through the end of this month.
October 1: National Hair Day
National Hair Day is October 1, and you can celebrate by turning your bedhead into luscious locks with a complimentary virtual appointment through Aveda. They offer numerous free 30-minute sessions from curls to color, so you’ll be turning heads in no time.
October 1: International Coffee Day
National Coffee Day may be in September, but International Coffee Day is October 1, and participating Burger King locations are celebrating from 6-10 a.m. on the 2nd, where Burger King Royal Perks members can get a free small iced coffee when they spend $1.
October 16: National Department Store Day
National Department Store Day is October 16th, and if you’re a fan of Macy’s, check out their Review Squad, which allows invited participants to provide honest and unbiased reviews on new or currently sold products. It’s free to sign up, and we can’t think of a better way to potentially score free full-sized versions of some very popular products.

Here’s a scary good Halloween food deal: If you wear your Halloween costume to a Krispy Kreme location on the 31st, they’ll give you a free donut to break up all that candy in your treat bag.
November includes Veteran’s Day and National Food Day freebies, and Wendy’s Jr. Frosty's.
Free throughout November (and all year)
If the cool weather has you eager for a sweet treat, score one of Wendy’s key tags this month to get access to free Jr. Frosty’s with purchases throughout the year. A portion of the $2 tag goes to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, but the Jr. Frosty’s are unlimited for you throughout the year.
November 11: Veteran’s Day
November can be chilly, so warm up by taking a hike through one of our great national parks for free on Veteran’s Day, November 11.
Veteran’s Day also offers a ton of deals for those who have served. If you’re an active-duty or retired military member, you have your choice of many freebies on Veteran’s Day.
November 16: National Fast Food Day
Celebrate National Fast Food Day on the 16th by downloading McDonald’s app and joining their MyMcDonald’s Rewards program, which will score you a 10-piece chicken McNugget order for free.
December is about free shipping, gift cards, and a ride home.
Mid-December
Holiday time means gift-giving, and sometimes we wait until the last minute. Free Shipping Day, could actually benefit you as this is a one-day promotional event that takes place each year in mid-December, where online retailers offer free shipping with no minimum purchase.
Who doesn’t love to get a card in the mail? You’ll have no excuse not to send one when you join Hallmark’s Crown Rewards program for free to unlock a greeting card from their “Just Because” line every month.
December 31
After partying hard on New Year’s Eve, many cities offer free rides through their subway or bus services to make sure everyone gets home safely. Visit your city’s transportation website to see if your city participates. Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Portland are just a few cities that offer people a safe ride home through public transit on the last day of the year.
