On Veterans Day, businesses and restaurants honor veterans with deals and freebies all day long.
On Veterans Day, lots of businesses express appreciation for veterans and active-duty military members by offering freebies and discounts. These include free meals at restaurants like Applebee's, Cracker Barrel, and Chili's, as well as free coffee from Dunkin' and Starbucks. Fast food chains like Subway and Wendy's also offer free food or discounts, while retailers such as Kohl's and Target have special discounts.
There are a lot of other kinds of Veterans Day discounts, from free car care checks and discounted tires, complimentary collectible pins, free admission to tourist attractions, and even free coworking workspace.
Veterans Day happens every year on Nov. 11.
Veterans Day is Nov. 11 every year. In 2025, Veterans Day will be on Tuesday, Nov. 11. The day marks the end of fighting during World War I (often regarded as the war to end all wars) in the eleventh hour of the eleventh month in 1918. In 1938, the day became a national holiday. And, in 1954, President Eisenhower signed a bill proclaiming the holiday would be known as Veterans Day. The holiday is marked with national ceremonies, plus local parades, tributes, and more for those who serve.
When and where can I find Veterans Day freebies?
Each year the list of businesses offering free items or services to veterans and active military on Veterans Day grows. Typically these freebies are only offered on actual Veterans Day, Nov. 11. However, occasionally you’ll find a deal that extends the offer through a weekend. It’s important to pay attention to the hours a deal is being offered. For example, if it’s a restaurant, it may include a free breakfast. But if they only serve breakfast from 7 a.m. – 11 a.m., you’ll need to get the freebie within that window.

Duluth Trading Co.: Watch for the Duluth Trading Co. offer a 10% discount in honor of Veterans Day. They also have a year-round 5% military discount.
Food Lion: On Nov. 11, 2025, veterans and active military will likely get a 10% discount (for in-store purchases only) at Food Lion. You must have a Food Lion MVP card and a valid military ID.
Kroger: In 2025, we predict Kroger will have an exclusive 10% discount for all service members, including active and former members and their dependents on Veterans Day.
Sam's Club: Active and former military members and their immediate family will likely have a chance to join Sam's Club for $20. You'll have to verify your eligibility through ID.me.
Target: Look for the Target 10% off Circle military discount that allows eligible military members to save 10% on two qualifying purchases. You'll need to be a Target Circle member (free to sign up) and verify your eligibility (upload your government ID or other proof) online on Target.com or in the Target app.
Tractor Supply: On Veterans Day 2025, we predict Tractor Supply will offer active military members, veterans, and their dependents a 10% discount (in-store purchases).
Walgreens: Next year, watch for Walgreens to have a Veterans Day discount for veterans, active military members, and their families.

Aquarium of the Pacific: Veterans and active military members will likely get free admission (with valid ID) to the Aquarium of the Pacific on Nov. 11 ( 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.). Advance reservations required.

Nashville Zoo: Next year, watch for the Nashville Zoo to offer free admission to veterans, active military members and their immediate families.

Sport Clips: We predict active-duty U.S. service members and veterans will get a free haircut deal at Sport Clips with proof of service. They'll also donate $2 from every haircut to Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) as part of their Help a Hero Campaign.
U.S. National Park Service: The U.S. National Park Service lets military veterans and Gold Star families enjoy the parks' beauty for free. Congress passed legislation 2021 that offers a free lifetime pass to national parks and other federal recreation areas.
Venture X and Office Evolution: Look for Venture X and Office Evolution to offer free coworking workspace to veterans for the month of November in 2025. Amenities include coffee, refreshments and high-speed internet.
