Cheap Men’s Haircuts Near Me

If you find yourself typing “cheap men’s haircuts near me” into Google, chances are you’re not looking for anything extreme — no fancy fades or mohawks that require a lot of upkeep. That’s good news, because it’s easier to find a cheap men’s haircut when you’re working with something pretty basic.

Great Clips

On average, Great Clips offers the lowest prices, averaging about $4 - $5 less per service than Supercuts.

It looks like an adult cut — no gender specified on their website — costs about $20, while seniors can get a cheap haircut for $18. A neck trim runs you about $8 on average, and a beard trim costs about $10.

Sport Clips

Women can technically get their hair cut and styled at Sport Clips, but it really is a place that specifically caters to men (even in their branding). Either way, it’s very convenient, as Sport Clips has more than 1,800 locations across the U.S.

The best news is, you get a free upgrade to the MVP package — which includes a haircut, steamed towel treatment, shampoo, scalp massage, leave-in conditioner treatment, and a neck massage — on your first visit. Typically, the MVP package costs about $33.

Below, we’ve included sample prices, but the individual costs may vary by location.

On average, a Varsity haircut costs $27 (adult), and a Sr. Varsity haircut costs $21 (seniors).

You can get beard detailing for about $10, and neck trims are free.

Sport Cuts’ other packages include the Triple Play — a Varsity haircut with a hot steamed towel and massaging shampoo add-on for about $33 — and the All-Star Treatment, everything but the haircut for an average of $8.

Cheap Women’s Haircuts Near Me

With women’s haircuts, the same logic applies: the simpler the cut, the cheaper. So long as you don’t plan on changing anything too drastically — like your color or length — then paying peanuts for a haircut is totally within reason.

Great Clips

Great Clips may just have the cheapest prices — though it depends on your specific location. Costs may vary from location to location.

Even though costs may vary a bit, here are some sample prices. An adult cut costs about $20. For a bang trim, the average is $10, and $7 for shampoo.

Supercuts

While Supercuts cuts the hair of men, women, and children, it seems to be the best spot for women specifically. On average, a haircut at Supercuts costs about $36.

Based on the New York City prices of Supercuts, you could score a women’s haircut for anywhere from $27 - $45. If you're looking for just a trim, opt for the Supercut for about $27.

For about $8 more (on average) the Supercut II will get you a shampoo and haircut. To really up the ante, there’s the Supercut III (about $45 on average, and it adds a shampoo, cut, and blow-dry).

Planning on coloring your hair? That’s where costs really add up, though they're still probably significantly less expensive than your local hair salon. A coloring at Supercuts could cost $60 or more, while highlights could run you anywhere from $90 - $170.

Supercuts is the only salon on our list that offers a rewards program. Although it won't give you any immediate savings on a haircut, in the long run it may pay off. Here's how it works:

  • Get 50 free points when you sign up for Supercuts Rewards.

  • Earn one point per $1 spent.

  • 100 points = $5 discount.

  • 200 points = $10 discount.

  • 400 points = a free haircut (up to a $25 value).

As a rewards member, you may also get bonus earning opportunities and exclusive offers. You can use your rewards on haircuts, service enhancements, and retail products. If you don't earn or redeem any points for 365 days, your existing points will expire.

Note that some locations only accept rewards if you signed up for the program at that location. If you visit another Supercuts salon, you should ask if they'll accept your rewards before purchasing services or products.

Supercuts Rewards is available at participating locations. Enter your ZIP code to find out if your local salon offers the program.

Fantastic Sam’s Cut & Color

There’s also Fantastic Sam’s Cut & Color, which has more than 500 locations across the U.S. and Canada. All haircuts include a complimentary shampoo. An adult haircut is about $25 ($35 to add on a blow-dry, $50 to add a blow-dry and style).

Cheap Kids’ Haircuts Near Me

Kids' haircuts are generally less pricey that adult cuts, but prices still vary by location. Here are some of the least expensive places to go for a child's haircut.

Sport Clips

At Sport Clips, kids are eligible for the Jr. Varsity cut, which is what they call their children’s pricing. On average, it’s about $20.

Fantastic Sam’s Cut & Color

At Fantastic Sam’s Cut & Color, kids under 11 can get a haircut for $15. If you also want a blow-dry, it’s $20 total.

Great Clips

Right now, Great Clips offers a $2 off coupon when you sign up for the email list.

Supercuts

At Supercuts, kids’ haircut prices are the same as senior citizens’ haircut prices. Both Supercut Jr. and Sr. haircuts cost an average of about $21.

Other Ways to Find Cheap Haircuts Near Me

Visit a local cosmetology school.

When it comes to finding the best cheap haircuts nearby, don’t sleep on your local hair school or cosmetology class. Students are still learning the haircutting craft, so many places will take optional donations or charge a nominal fee.

For example, Rocky Point High School in Long Island, New York, has a cosmetology program for its junior and senior students. Men’s haircuts start at $5, and a women’s haircut and blow dry at $6.

Show your ID for a possible discount.

Some salons also offer first-time customers a deal or discount if they show a student, teacher, first responder, police, essential healthcare worker, or military ID.

Look for haircut coupons and promotions.

Check out Groupon for location-specific haircut deals. Here are a few we found:

  • Up to 68% off at Cactus Salon & Day Spa in New York via Groupon

  • Up to 68% off at Fabi’s Hair Studio in New York City via Groupon

  • 40% off at Hair by Robyn at Magnolias Hair Salon in Arizona via Living Social

Note that on occasion you can find a Great Clips $5 off coupon or promotion, like their recent $9.99 haircut to celebrate college football playoffs.

Since most salons are franchises, ask your nearby location(s) if they have any current haircut offers or promotions.
