Target's prepping for the spooky season — and let's just say the Target Halloween costumes for 2024 came to play. We're talking a Stanley tumbler costume modeled after the viral cup, Bullseye Target costumes for the whole family, plus adaptive Halloween costumes for a more accessible fit.
Target locations are already stocking Halloween costumes, and they typically release new options online well before trick-or-treating begins. However, the best Halloween deals on costumes will hit about 10 days before Halloween. Between Target Circle offers, sales, and your 5% Circle Card discount, the savings can really add up. And don’t forget to hit the Target clearance section after Halloween to save 50% – 70% on items for next year.
However, if you're looking for a way to save on Halloween costumes at Target, our secret hack is easy: buy the costume you're eyeing now because these costumes will sell out, especially the trending ones. Then, since you have 90 days to return any item at Target, you can return the costume and rebuy it with the Target Halloween costume coupon we predict will come out Oct. 20, 2024.

New Halloween costumes are now available at Target, all under $50.
Whether you’re going for funny, scary, simple, or cute, Target has a huge variety of adult costumes and kids' Halloween costumes to choose from, with many new for 2024. And the prices are generally lower than you’ll find at seasonal Halloween stores, even without a sale or discount.
With a Target Halloween costume coupon predicted to come out on Oct. 20, you can buy a costume now, return it when the coupon hits, and then re-buy it using the coupon. Since they'll most likely sell out, that's our best tip for finding a deal on these new costumes.

How to Save on Target Halloween Costumes
1. Look for sales on Target Halloween costumes in mid-September to mid-October.
Watch for Halloween costumes to go on sale from September through October. Last year, we found select Halloween costumes and accessories on sale several times.
Here’s how the sales at Target looked in September - October 2023:
$15 Halloween costumes (Oct. 8 - 14)
$15 and under select Hyde & EEK Halloween costumes (Oct. 15 - 21)
30% off select Halloween pet costumes (Oct. 22 - 28)
$10+ Halloween costumes (Sept. 24 - 30)
30% off select Halloween costumes and accessories (Sept. 17 - 23)
2. Save up to 40% with the Target Halloween coupon.
Each year, Target has a Halloween coupon for costumes and accessories. Last year, it was the Deal of the Day on Oct. 21, 2023. This year, we predict the Target Halloween coupon will be back on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024. Here's what we've seen in the past:
40% off — Oct. 21, 2023
30% off — Oct. 16, 2022
40% off — Sept. 21, 2021
Only Target Circle members can redeem these deals, but it’s free to sign up — and totally worth it if you’re a regular Target shopper.
3. Buy your Halloween costume now while it's in stock and return it when you can use the 40% off coupon in October.
Target's popular Halloween costumes will sell out fast. One way to ensure you get the costume you want is to buy it now and return it during October when you can save 40%.
Yes, you'll pay more now for your costume. But you'll get what you want. Just hold on to it and return it on Oct. 20 (when we're predicting the 40% off coupon will come out) and repurchase the costume using the coupon.
Pay attention, though: Target only gives you a 90-day return window, but if you pay with a Target Circle Card or are a Target Circle 360 member, you'll get an extra 30 days.
4. Shop for costumes right before Halloween and request a price match when they go on sale after.
Don’t dismiss the Target price match policy when shopping for Halloween costumes. If you find a lower price on the exact same item within 14 days of your purchase, you can request a price match and get refunded the difference.
The day after Halloween, Target immediately marks down Halloween costumes by 50%. So if you buy costumes from Target a week before Halloween and request a price match as soon as the sale prices start, you’ll score big savings in the end.
5. Save an extra 5% on costumes when you pay with your Circle Card.
If you shop at Target regularly without a Circle Card, you’re missing out. As a cardholder, you get an extra 5% off your Target purchases, plus free shipping with no minimums and more time to make returns. It’s another free and easy way to sweeten the deal every time you shop.
6. Head to Target the day after Halloween to stock up on half-price costumes for next year.
Save yourself the stress of shopping for costumes next year and hit up Target’s Halloween clearance deals for huge savings.
Starting Nov. 1 (aka the day after Halloween), Target stores mark down any remaining Halloween items by 50%. But because these deals are so hot, costumes are usually cleared out within the first 48 hours. If you want a shot at the best selection, set your alarm early and get to the store as soon as it opens the day after Halloween.
Target Halloween clearance jumps to 70% off about three or four days after that, but it’s rare that you’ll still see costumes left on the hangers by then. Even so, it’s a great opportunity to score deep discounts on decor, accessories, shirts, pajamas, and other Halloween knick-knacks.
