If you don’t already have Apple AirPods, Black Friday and Cyber Week are the best times to save. That's because we tend to see AirPods drop to their lowest prices during Black Friday.
Walmart Black Friday and Amazon Black Friday deals will likely be the best options for saving on AirPods in 2024. But Target will probably have some great deals too — even better if you use your Target Circle Card to save another 5%.

Early Black Friday AirPods Deals
As soon as Walmart's Black Friday (Round 1) sale launched, we saw AirPods 3 for $94 (lowest-ever price). And Amazon matched that price immediately.
Look for prices as low as $69 for AirPods and $168 for AirPods Pro on Black Friday.
Regular AirPods (older generations): There are three generations floating around out there: Generations 2, 3, and 4. Apple no longer sells generation 2 or 3 AirPods, but plenty of retailers still stock them, like Walmart and Best Buy. These older models are the best candidates for Black Friday discounts, since they're a generation or two behind. We saw Gen. 2 AirPods go as low as $69 last Black Friday, as well as during Prime Day. But AirPods 3 seem to be the ones that'll get discounted in 2024. We don't expect them to go as low as $69, since they're newer. Consider anything below $99 to be a good deal for AirPods 3.
Regular AirPods (new generation): Gen. 4 is the newest model and an improvement over the previous two. The lowest price we've seen on those since their release has been $119. So we're holding out on a price of $99.99 or lower for that model for Black Friday.
AirPods Pro: Gen. 2 is the newest (and the only widely available) model. They're $249.99 at full price and regularly discounted to $199.99 (so don't buy at that price). Last year, on Black Friday, we saw them at $169, and during Prime Day 2024, we saw them at $168. Those are the price points you should watch for During Black Friday.
AirPods Max: If you’re in the market for those over-the-ear, ultra-spendy AirPods Max, you'd have been overjoyed last year to find them at 10% - 18% off. Things have changed, though. These $549 headphones are regularly discounted by $100. And on Prime Day 2024, we saw them at $395 ($150 off). That's the price you should hope for. But be happy with anything between $100 and $150 off.
Amazon and Walmart usually have the best deals on AirPods during Black Friday.
Amazon Black Friday and Walmart Black Friday tend to have the lowest prices for AirPods throughout the holidays and offer the biggest Black Friday discounts. And if one of their prices drops, you can pretty much count on the other to drop their prices to match it. But do expect stock to go in and out. At Amazon especially, the trick is to keep checking back if an AirPods deals is sold out.
Target will sometimes offer the same prices, and if it does, the 5% Circle Card discount helps them beat the prices of the other two.
Check for deals at the above stores first, and then compare prices at other stores (like Costco and Best Buy) to make sure you have the best AirPods deal out there.
Apple tends to offer gift-cards-with-purchase deals on Black Friday, rather than actual discounts, so it's barely in the running.
Shop Walmart's first wave of deals for the best prices.
If we look at both the money you’re saving and the percentage discount, Walmart and Amazon’s deals for AirPods generally come out on top. But you need to be aware that Walmart offers two waves of Black Friday deals. And those deals it offers during the first wave don't always come back for the second wave.
Walmart hasn't confirmed any AirPods deals during either wave yet.
But last year, Walmart dropped the price to $69 for the 2nd Gen. AirPods during the first wave of its Black Friday sale, and Amazon matched the price for the duration of the offer. The price went back up after that and didn’t return. However, you could still get them at a discount at $79.99.
Costco and Target Black Friday usually come in second place (they had $89 AirPods last year).
If you miss a great AirPods deal during Walmart's first wave, don't worry. Walmart usually has an AirPods Pro deal during the second wave. Last year, while the $69 AirPods didn't return, Walmart offered AirPods Pro for $169 (lowest price ever) during the second part of its sale.
KCL TIP: Check out Walmart's Black Friday deals during wave 1. If you see a super-low AirPods price, snap it up, if it's the model you want. If it isn't, wait for wave 2.
