Tech is at the top of our KCL users' shopping lists this year, according to our recent survey, and iPad Black Friday deals are a big hit every holiday season. But the best iPad deals are always on older-generation models. As long as you're okay with buying a slightly older model, you can expect to save up to 39% on a brand new iPad during Black Friday.
We've been tracking Apple deals for years and can confidently say that the best Black Friday deals on iPads aren't actually from Apple. Instead, retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and Target tend to have the most competitive iPad deals, as you'll see in our roundup below.
Check out these secrets to scoring bigger Apple discounts. Then download The Krazy Coupon Lady mobile app and set up deal alerts for Apple so we can tell you about every single price drop.

Know that 2024 iPad prices will likely start at $199.99 during Black Friday.
If your goal is to pay the absolute lowest price for a new iPad in 2024, go with the 9th Generation model. Aim to pay as low as $199.99 for an iPad 9th Generation during Black Friday sales, since that's the lowest price we saw during the Amazon Prime Day sale this past October.
Regular iPad (9th Generation): This older model is the best candidate for a Black Friday discount, as it'll soon be two generations behind (once Apple releases the 11th Generation later this year). The lowest price we've seen so far is $199.99 (39% off), with Best Buy and Costco tied for the best prices as of mid-November 2024.
Regular iPad (10th Generation): This model came out in October 2022 and is another good candidate for a Black Friday price drop. So far, the lowest price we've seen is $299 (30% off) at Amazon and Best Buy as of November 2024.
iPad Mini (6th Generation): During last year's Black Friday sale, we shared a hot deal for an iPad Mini 6th Generation for as low as $399.99 at Best Buy, but we expect that price to go lower for Black Friday 2024. Aim to pay no more than $349.99 (30% off) this year.
iPad Mini (7th Generation): Since this model just recently came out in late October 2024, we're not expecting to see much movement below the regular $499 price. Your best bet is to order it for as low as $474.99 at Target by paying with a Circle Card (you can sign up for a Circle Card online, and get a $50 bonus when you spend $50 or more).
iPad Air (6th Generation): Released in May 2024, the iPad Air 6th Generation is just old enough to start seeing some Black Friday discounts. Previously, the best deal was for $549 on Amazon during Prime Day, but we're already seeing it drop lower — just $499 at Best Buy as of early November 2024.
Target, Amazon, and Best Buy have the best deals on iPads during Black Friday.
Amazon consistently has the lowest prices across iPad models on Black Friday. The best part about that? Target and Best Buy tend to match Amazon’s price drops on popular products (including iPads), and sometimes they compete with even better deals and perks.
Check for iPad Black Friday deals at Amazon first, but don’t rule out other players like Best Buy and Target as you compare prices. Target often wins when you factor in their 5% Circle Card discount and additional offers you get with certain iPad purchases (like 15% off Logitech accessories through Dec. 28).
Shop during the final round of Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales for the best iPad prices.
When I peeked at Amazon's iPad pricing trends using the site CamelCamelCamel.com, it confirmed what I suspected: iPads tend to hit their lowest prices of the year near the tail-end of Black Friday sales and on Cyber Monday.
Amazon doesn't start their Black Friday sale until Nov. 21 this year, so look for more prices to drop around then.
That said, if you see prices drop below the following benchmarks, I'd recommend buying ASAP, as you're getting the lowest prices of the year.
How much are iPads during Black Friday and Cyber Monday?
iPad (9th Generation): $199.99 or less
iPad (10th Generation): $299 or less
iPad Mini (6th Generation): $349.99 or less
iPad Mini (7th Generation): $474.99 or less
iPad Air (6th Generation): $499 or less
Always compare iPad trade-in values if you're replacing an older model.
Remember that many retailers offer trade-in programs that'll give you credit toward a new purchase when you trade in an older-model iPad. Usually, the credit comes in the form of a store gift card, and the amount can vary depending on the model and condition.
I compared the average trade-in value for an iPad 8th Generation (32GB) and was quoted anywhere from $65 (through Target's trade-in program) up to $100 (through either Amazon's Trade-In or Costco's Trade-In programs). So it could pay to shop around.
