The official Amazon Black Friday sale is more than a week long
Amazon's Black Friday sale usually kicks off exactly a week before Black Friday, but this year it's kicking off on the Thursday before Thanksgiving. While other retailers do multiple waves of deals, Amazon keeps it relatively simple, offering just one continuous sale that stretches through Cyber Monday.
New this year, Amazon will be having daily deal drops. A themed selection of deals will drop each day of the sale and run only that day.
Unlike Amazon's other big sales (Prime Day in July and Prime Big Deal Days in October), its Black Friday sale is not just for Prime members. Others can shop it too.
Amazon Black Friday sale will go live Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024.
Amazon confirmed that its Black Friday sale will start Nov. 21, on a Thursday. That's a day earlier than last year, when the sale kicked off on a Friday. Deals will keep going without a break through Dec. 2 (aka Cyber Monday).
Amazon is changing things up this year with food deals, travel deals, and daily drops
In addition to the usual savings on tech, clothing, toys, and appliances, Amazon is introducing a few new things this Black Friday:
Travel deals: Amazon's been offering travel deals for a while now, starting with a partnership with Priceline back in 2023. This year's Black Friday will offer a range of travel deals, including flights under $100 on American, 25% off Hyatt, up to 50% off Princess Cruises, and more when you book through this page.
A turkey deal: Through Amazon's grocery delivery service (Amazon Fresh), you can get a turkey and selection of sides that feeds six people for under $5 per person. You'll need to live in an area with Amazon Fresh delivery or an Amazon Fresh store.
Daily deal drops: Every day of the Black Friday sale, Amazon will drop a new set of deals around a surprise theme.

In fact, Amazon doesn’t price match, period. That said, we often do see it price-chase competitors and offer the same price on identical products.
Some of Amazon's competitors do price match Amazon, though.
Amazon gives you extra time to return holiday purchases.
If you end up regretting a Black Friday purchase, Amazon offers an extended holiday return period that gives you until Jan. 15 to return anything purchased starting Nov. 1.
Keep an eye out for Amazon Black Friday gift card deals.
Black Friday through Cyber Monday, Amazon customers can usually save on gift cards with Lightning Deals and promotional credit offers from top brands and restaurants. Last year, we saw 20% off or up to $15 in Amazon promotional credit for those who bought gift cards from retailers like Bath & Body Works and Victoria's Secret or from food joints like Cold Stone Creamery or Domino’s.
Gift cards make great gifts, but they're also a great savings tactic because you can buy a discounted gift card to spend at a place you regularly shop.
You don't need a Prime membership to shop Amazon Black Friday, but it does have its perks.

Amazon Cyber Monday deals will begin on Black Friday.
This year, Amazon is transitioning seamlessly into Cyber Weekend, with Cyber Monday deals starting Nov. 30 and running through Dec. 2.
Are Amazon's Cyber Monday prices better than its Black Friday prices?
In recent years, Amazon has mostly replayed its lowest Black Friday prices, bringing them back for Cyber Monday. For example, for Amazon's own devices (Echos, Fire Tablets, etc.), we saw the price parked at the same amount from the moment Amazon's Black Friday sale kicked off through Cyber weekend (based on Keepa and CamelCamelCamel price history tracking).
But in some cases, Amazon has beaten their Black Friday pricing during their Cyber Monday sale. Last year, for example, they lowered the price of LOL Surprise Magic Flyers by another $4 on Cyber Monday. We also saw a $10 Amazon gift card offer tacked onto the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro 2 that wasn't there on Black Friday. However, you can never predict which products will drop in price on Cyber Monday. So our advice is this: start with Amazon's Black Friday sale, and if you miss any deals, check back on Cyber Monday. Treat Amazon Cyber Monday more as a second chance than as an event to skip Black Friday and wait for.
