While the most-hyped Prime Day deals tend to be tech favorites like Apple products, Dyson deals, Amazon Echo devices, and the legendary Lightning Deals, whenever Prime Day rolls around, we see plenty of savings on the practical side as well — like Amazon grocery deals to help you fill your cupboards with discounted essentials.
This is true for both the July Prime Day sale as well as Amazon's October event, Prime Big Deal Days.
Here's what to expect so you're ready to stock your pantry during the next sale.
The Best Prime Day grocery deals are usually on pantry staples.
During the most recent October Prime Big Deal Days sale, stock-up-worthy items saw significant discounts. Here are some of the deals we spotted:
A (very) short-lived deal for up to 70% off Amazon Fresh-brand meat
Mott's Fruit Snacks Family Size for 38% off
SmartBones Dog Treats for up to 71% off
Ritz Crackers for 81% off
35% off Orgain Kids Protein Shakes
56% off Arm & Hammer Cat Litter
You can often combine grocery savings with limited-time promos.
Some of the grocery items on sale during Prime Day stack with limited-time buy-more-save-more promos. When you're looking at a product, check out the "coupons" section right below the price to see stackable offers. During Prime Big Deal Days in October, we spotted these offers:
15% off when buying four pantry staples like coffee, pet treats, and crackers.
$10 off when you spent $30 on canned goods.
$15 in Amazon credit when you spent $50 on cleaning supplies and paper products.
Be on the lookout for valuable promo codes on Amazon Fresh delivery.
Amazon Fresh is Amazon's grocery brand and delivery service. During July's Prime Day sale, there was a very short-lived code for $40 off Amazon Fresh delivery orders over $100. We did not see a similar offer during October's Prime Big Deal Days sale.
Because these codes are so short-lived, check out the Amazon Fresh page so you can pounce if one appears.
Prime members can get free delivery on their first three Amazon grocery orders.
If you're new to Amazon grocery delivery, know this: you'll either need to pay for a delivery subscription or pay a per-order delivery fee.
But Prime members (who haven't yet used Amazon Fresh to order groceries) can get free delivery on their first three orders by taking advantage of this deal:
Order your groceries from Amazon. Make sure your order totals at least $50.
Repeat for two more orders of $50 each by Dec. 31, 2024 (when this offer ends).
Prime members can also save at Whole Foods.
Prime Day aside, remember, as a Prime member, you can save 10% every day on select storewide sale items at physical Whole Foods stores.
Look for the yellow sale signs around the store. You’ll see the sale price and a Member price, which will be 10% off the sale price.
KCL TIP: If you have the Prime Visa Card, you can also earn 5% back when you shop at Whole Foods.
