Get to Starbucks early on Red Cup Day — supply is limited.
If you wait until late morning on Red Cup Day, you might be out of luck. The annual event is known to draw a crowd, and cups disappear long before the end of the day.
Most Starbucks cafes open at 5 a.m., and we suggest getting there bright and early to get your hands on a cup.
The cups are also available at Starbucks inside Target stores.
If you get your Starbucks at Target, you can afford to sleep in a little. Target typically opens at 8 a.m., so that’s the earliest you could grab your red cup. And, yes, Target locations have the cups.
You have to buy one of their 20 holiday drinks to get the free cup.
The holiday menu changes every year, but these are the drinks that earned a free cup in 2024. Most drinks are around the $6 price point, but a tall hot chocolate will be the most affordable option around $3.

Starbucks announced their holiday cups in five new designs for 2024.
Here's what's actually coming on Nov. 7. The store will get a festive makeover, and your drinks will come in new holiday cup designs. This year they've got five new designs with a theme they're calling "Merrier Together".

Warm Wishes: Interconnected dots evoke glowing holiday lights and moments of enjoying coffee together.
Joyful Connection: Circular shapes combining to form a pattern that honors the art of coffee roasting and the joy of being together.
Lyrical Landscape: Alternating bands of red, green and pink create a symphony of color like a perfectly wrapped gift.
Siren Chorus: Draws inspiration from the patterns made from raking coffee beans in the sun and the flowing lines of the Starbucks siren.
Holiday Cold Cup: Festive charms adorn the holiday cold cup, adding a touch of cheer to the season
After Red Cup Day, use your new cup to get $0.10 off and earn 25 Bonus Stars.
Starbucks allows customers to get any drink in a personal cup to score a $0.10 reusable cup discount and 25 bonus Stars. It's an excellent incentive for customers to bring in a reusable cup — particularly because of the 25 bonus Stars.
Free hot or iced coffee or tea requires 100 Stars. That means you'll earn a free coffee or tea just by bringing your cup four times. Bring any cup you have from home — costing you $0 out of pocket — and earn 100 Stars within four visits with your cup. And remember, 100 Stars = free coffee.
