September sales aren't as flashy as the sales coming up in October and November, but that doesn't mean you can't get some incredible deals. Stock up in September on things like German food at Aldi during Aldi German Week, baby gear at Walmart and Target, and even shop some early Halloween deals.
We also saw Labor Day sales early in the month, but you'll still find outdoor clearance sales happening through the next week. Patio clearance will see prices up to 75% off, and you can stack a 20% off Target student discount on top of any back-to-school clearance deals that are still available through Sept. 28.
Don't sleep on the September food holidays and freebies either. National Cheeseburger Day, National Coffee Day, and free admission to parks and museums mean you can wrap up the summer without overspending. Here's everything you need to know about what's happening in September, from sales to freebies.
Use our new Deal Planner™ in the free Krazy Coupon Lady app to set alerts about freebies, events and more! We'll remind you when retail events are happening so you don't miss out. Download the KCL app now.
What to Buy in September
1. Huggies Diapers at Walgreens
My favorite stock-up deals are the ones that also help others. Buy Huggies at Walgreens this month and get a clippable $2 coupon in the free Walgreens app along with $5 Register Rewards when you spend $35. Use the deals below to save on 4-packs and individual packs.
During the weeks of Sept. 8 and Sept. 15, you can also clip a $1.50 off digital coupon.
Plus, when you stock up on Huggies diapers at Walgreens through Sept. 28, Huggies will donate a day’s worth of diapers to those in need*.
*For every pack of Huggies® Diapers purchased at Walgreens from 9/1/24 to 9/28/24 Huggies® will donate a day’s worth of diapers (6 diapers), up to a maximum of 1,000,000 diapers, to the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN) for babies in need. For details on NDBN, go to www.nationaldiaperbanknetwork.org. © KCWW © Disney
2. Baby Products
The semi-annual Walmart Baby Days event officially returns on Sept. 1, 2024. Some early deals have started, and I’m seeing 18% - 25% off on items like Evenflo strollers, Safety 1st car seats, and Jeep strollers.
We typically see the Target Baby Sale start at the same time as Walmart and expect it around Sept. 8, and the Target Car Seat Trade-In event returns on Sunday, Sept. 15. So you’ll be seeing sales on baby products, along with a 20% off coupon if you trade in your old car seat.
3. Persil Laundry Detergent
Stock up the supply cabinet with Persil Ultra Pacs™ laundry detergent this month at Walmart. Shop Walmart Rollback prices in select locations to pay just $11.47 for the 32- and 42-count containers.
Want another good deal? The 16-count Persil Intense Fresh Ultra Pacs™ drop to just $3.77 after the Walmart Rollback at select stores and $1 Ibotta offer — working out to just $0.24 per load.
4. German Foods at Aldi
Aldi’s German Week is predicted to arrive mid-month on Sept. 18. During German Week, you can expect deals on the Deutsche Küche brand starting as low as $1.39. Stock up in September on pork schnitzel, herring fillets, hazelnut biscuits, and egg spaetzle.
5. Stock Up on Hydration With Pedialyte at Walgreens
If your kids (or you) have been unlucky enough to get sick already this school year, hydrate during their recovery with this BOGO 25% off Pedialyte deal at Walgreens.
You'll get the biggest savings when you grab two of your favorite Pedialyte liters to take advantage of the BOGO 25% off discount. Then clip the $2 off digital coupon to pay as low as $10.23 — or $5.12 each. Or buy two Pedialyte AdvancedCare Liters for $5.55 each after the BOGO offer and the coupon.
Alternatively, you can get two packs of Pedialyte Pops for $5.24 each, no coupons necessary.
6. Fall Travel
Every few weeks, the Southwest Wanna Get Away Sale offers one-way fares starting at just $39. The September sale is a great chance for travelers to get discounted flights during the fall season. Plus, Southwest features additional deals and offers to help customers save on various other travel expenses like hotels and rental cars. This sale started on Sept. 10 and runs through Sept. 19.
7. Patio Furniture and Outdoor Clearance
Now’s the time to start looking for at least 50% off outdoor clearance. Look for deals on patio furniture, lawnmowers, grills, camping gear, and even bikes. Half price should be your goal, but if you can score 70% - 90% off, you’ll be getting a killer deal.
Check out these outdoor deals:
Expert Grill 2 Burner Tabletop Propane Gas Grill for $60, 53% off at Walmart
Origin 21 Balcony Chair Set for $87, 75% off at Lowe’s
Style Selections 2-Piece Wicker Patio Set for $99.50, 75% off at Lowe’s
Origin 21 4-Piece Patio Set for $199.50, 75% off at Lowe’s
Sunjoy Steel Pop-Up Gazebo for as low as $98.71, 69% off at Wayfair
8. (Last-Minute) College Essentials
If you’re bopping through your first week of classes making a mental list of all the things you still need for the fall semester, you can still score 20% off with the Target College Student Discount, which ends Sept. 28.
You can absolutely stack this discount on top of other Target Circle deals. Just be sure to join Target Circle if you haven’t already and upload a valid student ID, class schedule, or a recent tuition receipt to get the discount.
9. Halloween Items (At Certain Stores)
You don’t have to wait for the holiday to end to score Halloween deals. Shop early in September, and you’ll see $5 costumes at Walmart, for example. For these early deals, it’s best to shop now. They won’t last until Halloween clearance time, and they’re already at a super low price. We've got Halloween candy deals already happening as well.
However, there will definitely be more Halloween clearance in November. Last year, Lowe’s offered a Halloween clearance sale with items up to 75% off.
