Walmart Sales Schedule 2024: When to Expect the Biggest Deals

Keeping tabs on all the upcoming Walmart sales is pretty much a job in itself. But lucky for you, our team at The Krazy Coupon Lady has tracked Walmart sales for years. And since we've collected so much data about Walmart sales, we decided to put together an unofficial — but pretty official, in our opinion — guide to Walmart's sales schedule.

As you might expect, some of the biggest Walmart sales pop up toward the end of the year, starting with the Walmart Holiday Deals Event in early October and continuing through multiple waves of Walmart Black Friday sales in November and the Walmart Cyber Monday sale in December.

But depending on what you're shopping for, other yearly Walmart sales are certainly worth checking out, too — like the Walmart Back-to-School Sale in July (for $6 backpacks and school supplies under $1) and the Walmart Baby Sale in February and September (when you can get up to 60% off baby gear).

Walmart Sales Calendar 2024: Dates and Sale Highlights

Walmart Baby Days Sale

Twice a year, the Walmart Baby Days Sale offers savings of anywhere from 20% - 60% on an assortment of items for babies and toddlers, including baby gear, furniture, clothing, strollers, car seats, and more. In our experience, we tend to see the biggest and best savings during the springtime event.

New deals come out weekly (on Sundays), with most sale prices available both online and in store.

Sale Dates: Feb. 15 - March 31, and Sept. 1 - 30, 2024

Savings: Discounts vary depending on the brand and category, but the highest price drops we've seen have been on a toddlers' two-piece sweater and pant set (68% off), Munchkin Car Window Shades (45% off), baby changing stations (40% off), the Owlet camera (36% off), digital thermometers (35% off), and Carter's bodysuit multipacks (31% off).

Walmart Memorial Day Sale

For about a week leading up to the actual holiday, Walmart's Memorial Day Sale focuses the deals on all things summer. Many discounts hover around 20% - 25% off, but you'll find bigger savings (around 40% - 50% off) select summertime essentials like portable grills, trampolines, snacks, and bikes.

Walmart stores are open on Memorial Day itself, and most sale prices are also available online.

Sale Dates: May 19 - 27, 2024

Savings: Look for the biggest discounts on bounce houses (up to 58% off), robot vacuums (up to 57% off), and planters (up to 43% off). We also see charcoal grills priced as low as $14.97 (about $5 off) around Memorial Day.

Walmart+ Week (For Paid Walmart+ Members Only)

You'll need to have a paid Walmart+ subscription to shop the deals during during Walmart+ Week and to take advantage of the extra gas savings at participating pumps. Thousands of items get rollback prices during this members-only event, but from our experience, it's a rather random assortment of items and brands.

There are often special promos during Walmart+ Week, like free Express Delivery for members (regularly $10 per order) and free trials of Walmart+ InHome Delivery (usually an extra $7 a month).

Sale Dates: June 17 - 23, 2024

Savings: The biggest discounts are typically on no-name brands, but look for deals on select jewelry (up to 86% off), select summer dresses (up to 65% off), and electronics (up to 52% off). Walmart+ members also get $0.20 off every gallon of gas at Exxon and Mobil stations.

KCL TIP: Only paid Walmart+ members get access to the discounts during Walmart+ Week, which means you won't get to shop the deals if you're on the 30-day free trial of Walmart+ membership.

Walmart Deals Event in July

To compete with Amazon Prime Day in July and Target Circle Week, Walmart hosts their own summertime extravaganza with the Walmart Deals Event in July. The July sale typically lasts for four days, with deals across departments that are available online and in store.

Walmart+ members do get early access to the deals (about five hours earlier than everyone else), but in our experience, that's only helpful if you have extreme FOMO. Otherwise, deals don't usually sell out during the early access period.

Sale Dates: July 8 - 11, 2024

Savings: Savings vary, but some of the most-shopped deals from July 2024 were tabletop fire pits for $18 (82% off), weekender bags as low as $9 (78% off), Skullcandy wireless earbuds for $10 (75% off), and robot vacuums as low as $59. You'll also see early back-to-school deals on kids' clothing and supplies.

Walmart Back-to-School Sale

You can't really miss the Walmart Back-to-School Sale if you're anywhere near a Walmart store in mid-July. They put the markdowns front and center in stores (and on Walmart.com), offering stock-up worthy prices on tons of school supplies (often under $1), plus cheap kids' clothing and $6 backpacks.

Sale Dates: Usually starts the second week of July

Savings: Look for $6 Wonder Nation kids' backpacks — and many other backpacks under $15. The absolute lowest prices are on their store brand school supplies (Pen+Gear), with standout deals like $0.25 2-pocket folders, $0.25 crayons, and $0.45 notebooks. But we also see Walmart Rollbacks on name brands like Elmer's, Crayola, and Fiskars during the sale.

Walmart Labor Day Sale

End-of-summer clearance deals tend to peak during the Walmart Labor Day Sale, with storewide Rollbacks on summer clothing, shoes, patio furniture, and outdoor sports gear. Basically, anything seasonal that needs to get off the shelves before the fall season is fair game for Labor Day markdowns.

Sale Dates: Aug. 26 - Sept. 2, 2024

Savings: The best deals are typically on end-of-summer clothing and shoes (up to 70% off), which is convenient timing for back-to-school season. Patio furniture also gets its biggest markdowns of the year — we've seen them mark down fire pits and outdoor dining sets by up to 60%.

Walmart Holiday Deals Event

Considered the official kickoff to Walmart's holiday sale season, the Walmart Holiday Deals event gets things started with hundreds of standout deals on vacuums, apparel, toys, cookware, home items, kitchen appliances, and more. It's basically Walmart's version of the Amazon Prime Day sale in October, so expect the two retailers to compete on price on pretty much everything.

The deals are online and in store, with Walmart+ members getting online access 12 hours earlier than everyone else. Though most items aren't a sellout risk, so having early access isn't crucial.

Sale Dates: Oct. 8 - 13, 2024

Savings: Look for the biggest savings on a hard-sided luggage set for $85 (79% off), a cordless stick vacuum for $80 (73% off), a Carote cookware set for $68 (66% off), and a countertop ice maker for under $40 (66% off). Legos, Crocs, and coffee makers also get deep discounts.

Walmart Black Friday Sale

Walmart always splits their Black Friday sale into two waves of deals, with the early deals starting about two weeks before Thanksgiving and the main deals ending on the Sunday after (when Cyber Monday takes over). Basically, it's a frenzy of deals on tech, toys, home items, and more, and we usually see Walmart go head-to-head with Amazon and Target in the battle for the lowest prices.

You can shop Walmart Black Friday deals in store or online, but paid Walmart+ members do get first dibs online (in 2024, it's five hours earlier than everyone else). But having early access is only helpful if you have extreme FOMO, as their deals don't tend to sell out that soon.

Sale Dates: Nov. 11 - 17 and Nov. 25 - Dec. 1, 2024

Savings: Dozens of TVs (from brands like RCA, TCL, and Roku) are priced under $100 for Walmart Black Friday. We also see big savings on top toys, vacuums, cookware, headphones (including AirPods and Beats), tablets, computers, kitchen appliances, video games, and gaming consoles.

Walmart Cyber Monday Sale

In case you missed out on any hot Black Friday savings, the Walmart Cyber Monday sale is the next-best time to shop for holiday savings at Walmart. Online deals drop the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and paid Walmart+ members get access three hours earlier than everyone else (but again, most items don't sell out that quickly).

We don't typically see free shipping promotions for Walmart Cyber Monday, unless you spend at least $35 (or have a paid Walmart+ membership, which is also on sale for 50% off through Dec. 2).

Sale Dates: Starts Dec. 1, 2024

Savings: The best deals (and highest savings) are typically on headphones, tablets, smartwatches, laptops, vacuums, toys, and kitchen appliances, with savings up to 80%. A few TVs are marked down more than they are during Black Friday.

More Unofficial Walmart Sales

Walmart Christmas Clearance

It's worth waiting until the Walmart after-Christmas sale to scoop up heavily discounted Christmas decor, artificial trees, kids' holiday books, gift sets, and more in stores — all for at least 50% off.

Sale Dates: Dec. 26, 2024 to mid-January 2025 (predicted)

Savings: Walmart usually marks Christmas items down by 50% starting the day after the holiday (Dec. 26). Expect discounts to hit 75% off by Jan. 2 (and even 90% off by the second week of January), but in-store inventory tends to be pretty limited by then. You may need to visit multiple stores in order to find the best deals.

Walmart Toy Clearance

Twice a year, Walmart clears out a ton of their toy inventory both in stores and online. The best Walmart toy clearance deals are typically in stores, but we often see some toy clearance deals pop up online too.

Sale Dates: June 2024 and December 2024 (predicted)

Savings: Look for markdowns of 50% - 80% on dolls, collectibles, action figures, and more. And it's not just generic toys — it's toys from top brands like Barbie, Lego, and Fisher-Price.
