So here’s the thing about Old Navy Super Cash — it feels like such a score when you first get it. But then you miss the redemption window. (Seriously, who can keep track of that?) So you may have what essentially amounts to expired coupons stuck to your fridge. And it probably stays there behind a magnet for weeks on end. Perhaps it’s even silently mocking you (or maybe that’s just me). But, wait, that expired Super Cash can still be useful on your Old Navy purchases. The catch? This hack only works if you grab your Super Cash within 30 days after the close of the redemption window.
As it turns out, you can actually turn your expired Old Navy Super Cash into points useable in their rewards program. This option has been hiding in plain sight for a while. I only recently became aware of it courtesy of a viral TikTok video on the topic. Below I’ll outline exactly how you can turn that expired cash into points. This way you’ll never feel like it’s wasted again. And if you’re wondering how does Old Navy Super Cash work, anyway? I’m diving into that, too.
But first, while you can turn that expired cash into points, it’s worth ridiculously more in it’s current form. If you hit your $50 minimum spend to use your $20 Super Cash, that equals a 40% savings. With rewards points, it’s only a 1% return.

Old Navy Super Cash is a program where shoppers can earn what amount to coupons to be used during a specified promotional period.
When you’re shopping at Old Navy, you’ll notice that, on occasion, the store offers the opportunity to earn Super Cash (online as well). The more you spend during these time periods, the more Super Cash you’ll earn. For example, you’ll typically earn $10 in Super Cash for every $25 you spend. If you’re shopping in person, this will be handed to you as a paper coupon. However if you’re shopping online, it will either be loaded into your Old Navy loyalty program account (which is free to join) or emailed to you with a unique code. Then, you can redeem this at a later, specified date (it will say on the paper coupon or in your account).

How does Old Navy Super Cash work?
Okay, so you’ve to that Super Cash. Awesome. Now here’s how to use it. First of all, make sure you’re in the official redemption period. If you’re shopping IRL, just slide that paper coupon across the counter to the Old Navy cashier and they’ll use it against your purchase. However, if you’re shopping online, you just head to checkout, then copy and paste your code from your email into the Promotions & Rewards field. Following that you hit ‘Apply.” Bing, bang, boom — you’ve used your Super Cash.
Turn expired Super Cash into useable Old Navy rewards points in your Navyist Rewards account.
Let’s say you have those expired paper coupons in your hot little hands. Or an expired Super Cash redemption code in your email or Navyist Rewards account (that’s the name of the ON loyalty program). It’s actually really easy to transfer that cash into points that you can later apply to Old Navy purchases. Here’s how to do it.
Become a Navyist Rewards member.
If you aren’t already a Navyist Rewards member, it’s totally free to join and comes with several perks. For example, you’ll earn points across four brands: Old Navy, Gap, Athleta, and Banana Republic. These points are also redeemable at all four brands. You earn 1 point for every $1 spent, and 100 points = a $1 reward. Navyist Rewards members also receive free 3-5 day shipping on all orders $50+. A loyalty account is helpful in terms of tracking online orders, as well as your Super Cash.
Log into your rewards account either on OldNavy.com.
This will look a little different depending on whether you’re using your phone or a computer.
On a mobile phone:
Click the menu on the upper left side of the screen.
Scroll to ‘Account’ in the dropdown menu.
From there, scroll down to ‘My Points and Rewards.’ Click that.
You’ll see three tabs on the page. ‘Earn and Redeem’ is the third tab from the left. Click into it.
Scroll down this page until you see ‘Convert Expired Bonus Cash to Points.’ This is where you can enter the unique codes associated with your expired Old Navy Super Cash.
Remember, you only have 30 days from the Super Cash expiration date to convert it into points.
On a computer:
Click ‘Sign In, You Account’ on the upper right side of the page (next to the ‘Bag’ icon.
Sign in, then scroll to ‘My Points and Rewards’ from the drop down menu.
Click on the ‘Earn & Redeem’ tab (third from the left).
Scroll down until you see ‘Convert Expired Bonus Cash to Points.’ Enter any unique codes you have from expired Old Navy Super Cash (30 day limit).
Is it worth letting Old Navy Super Cash expire just to convert it into rewards points instead?
The short answer: No. The lowest denomination of Old Navy Super Cash is $10 and counts as $10 against your next ON purchase. When you convert an expired $10 coupon into points, it only becomes 10 points. And you need 100 points to get a $1 reward. So if you’re shopping Old Navy during the Super Cash redemption period, use it! Converting that cash into points is simply a way to make sure it doesn’t completely go to waste.
You can also look at it this way: With Navyist rewards, 100 points are worth $1, so you’re essentially getting 1% back with Old Navy points. But if you use 10 Super Cash with a minimum spend of $25, it’s essentially a 40% discount on your spend. So spending Old Navy Super Cash in its purist form during the redemption period is the better savings.
Super Cash can’t be applied to the purchase of Everyday Steals or gift cards, among other things.
Before you head into Old Navy with your cash, know that there are some exclusions then using it. You can’t apply it to purchases of charitable merchandise (items that benefit a non-profit organization), online Everyday Steals, or gift cards. Additionally, you can’t use it to pay a portion of your Old Navy credit card balance or apply it to packaging, applicable taxes, or price adjustments on prior purchases. And you cannot use Super Cash at any of ON’s sister brands, like Gap, Athleta, or Banana Republic, whereas you can use rewards points earned at ON at those retailers.
