There are so many free rewards programs out there at different stores and restaurants. Some of them are so good they’re worth signing up for, even if you don’t shop (or eat) there regularly.

We’re going to break them all down — from the best free store rewards programs for couponers to food and restaurant rewards programs. By the end, you’ll be getting all the freebies and goodies to help you save on future purchases!

If you’re looking to get rewarded for being a frequent flyer at stores like Target, Kohl’s, Walgreens, and more, you’re gonna love this list of store loyalty programs. (And no, Walmart Cash rewards isn’t on this list. You gotta pay to play!)

Best Free Rewards Programs for Couponers

Club Publix

Club Publix is the free loyalty program for Publix shoppers. Once you sign up, you can clip digital coupons and get exclusive deals, take an early sneak peek at the weekly ad, and rack up perks in your digital wallet.

CVS ExtraCare Rewards

ExtraCare is the free CVS rewards program, and it’s how you start earning ExtraBucks, which is basically CVS store credit. You’ll earn 2% back every time you shop, score weekly ad deals and in-store sale prices, and get a $3 ExtraBucks reward for your birthday.

You can sign up for ExtraCare online or through the CVS Pharmacy app (iOS / Android).

Dick’s Sporting Goods ScoreCard

The Dick’s ScoreCard rewards program gives you one point for every $1 you spend. When you earn 300 points, you’ll get a $10 reward. Members also get insider access to offers, deals, and products from Dick’s Sporting Goods.

If you spend over $500 annually, you’ll become a ScoreCard Gold member. Gold members get to pick a 3x points day and get a dedicated customer service line for even faster in-store checkout.

JCPenney Rewards

JCPenney’s free rewards program gives you one point for every $2 you spend. Once you earn 200 points, you’ll receive a $10 Rewards certificate to use on future purchases. Points don’t expire as long as you buy at least one thing every calendar year at JCPenney. You’ll also receive a birthday gift and bonus events to earn extra points.

Kohl’s Rewards

Kohl’s Rewards earns you 5% back on all your Kohl’s purchases. Your balance is converted to Kohl’s Cash when you rack up enough rewards, and you have 30 days to use it. Plus, you’ll receive monthly dollar-off and percent-off coupons. The more you shop, the more coupons they’ll send you. You’ll also get a birthday present (I got a $10 cash coupon).

You can sign up for free online or in the Kohl’s app (iOS / Android).

Kroger Rewards

Kroger’s free membership is the best way to grab deals and save more at Kroger. Their loyalty program gives you exclusive Kroger coupons, weekly specials, and sale prices — saving you an average of $576 per year. You can also save on fuel and earn one point for every $1 spent at Kroger.

You can sign up for Kroger’s free membership online or in the Kroger app (iOS / Android).

 

My Best Buy Rewards

My Best Buy doesn’t offer the best rewards rates compared to other loyalty programs. And as of February 2023, you’ll only rack up points if you have the My Best Buy credit card. But the program is still worth mentioning here.

For My Best Buy credit cardholders, the rewards program will give you 2.5 points for every $1 you spend. For non-credit cardholders, signing up for a free My Best Buy account will get you free shipping with no minimum spend.

MyWalgreens

MyWalgreens is free to join and a must-have to unlock Walgreens sale prices. By joining the program, you’ll receive 1% Walgreens Cash rewards storewide on eligible purchases (including at the pharmacy) and 5% Walgreens Cash rewards on Walgreens-branded products.

Nordstrom Nordy Club

The Nordy Club is Nordstrom’s free store loyalty program that you can use at Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack. You’ll earn one point per $1 you spend. When you earn 1,000 points, you’ll get a $10 Nordstrom Note (aka free cash to spend on anything from Nordstrom). You’ll earn points even faster with the Nordstrom App (iOS / Android): get $5 when you earn 500 points.

The Nordy Club also gives you exclusive access to Nordstrom sales, offers, and events.

 

Old Navy Navyist Rewards

Old Navy’s loyalty program is called Navyist Rewards. You’ll earn one point for every $1 you spend at any of their brands (Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, or Athleta). For every 100 points you earn, you’ll get a $1 reward to use at any brand. You’ll also unlock bonus points when you shop at two or more Gap Inc. brands annually and 125 points quarterly when you shop at any brand. Members also get a special birthday bonus and access to member-only exclusives.

Petco Pals Rewards

With Petco Pals Rewards, you’ll earn one point for every $1 you spend and you’ll get a $5 Reward for every 167 points you earn. You’ll also get access to lower prices on select items, personalized pet care reminders, coupons, and special offers.

REI Co-op Membership ($30)

So before we get into the details, you should know that the REI Co-op Membership isn’t free — but you’ll only make a one-time $30 payment, and it’s good for LIFE.

Get access to member-only discounts during special in-store events, free shipping, and exclusive limited-edition gear. The annual REI Garage Sale is only available to Co-op members. Plus, there’s a Re/Supply program that allows Co-op members to trade in used gear. Members earn 10% back on qualifying purchases in dividends issued in March from their calendar year purchases. For example, the Co-op Member Reward you earn on purchases made in 2022 will be issued in March 2023 and expire in January 2024.

As long as you plan to spend $300 throughout your lifetime, you’ll earn your money back for your membership. You do have to spend at least $10 a year at REI to remain active.

Note: You won’t earn dividends on sale or clearance items. REI Outlet purchases won’t qualify either. But there are plenty of REI shopping hacks to help you save.

 

Rite Aid Rewards

To get any deals at Rite Aid, you’ll need to sign up for Rite Aid Rewards, aka Rite Aid’s free loyalty program. You’ll earn 10 points for every $1 you spend and earn more points for certain activities, like filling your prescriptions.

Shopping with Rite Aid Rewards generates points that convert to BonusCash. Swap your points for BonusCash to spend on future Rite Aid purchases in these amounts:

  • 1,000 points = $2 BonusCash
  • 2,000 points = $4 BonusCash
  • 3,000 points = $6 BonusCash

RiteAid also offers monthly BonusCash Challenges to earn tons of points! In March 2022, they offered up to 15,000 points by purchasing select brands.

Sephora Beauty Insiders

Sephora Beauty Insiders earn one point per $1 spent at Sephora, plus other free perks like exclusive discounts, a free birthday gift, and free standard shipping on every order. Even if you spend enough money to become a Sephora VIB or Rouge member, you’ll earn the same amount of points per dollar as free members.

Once you earn 500 points, you can redeem them for $10 off a qualifying purchase. Your points don’t expire unless you go a whole 12 months without shopping at Sephora.

Target Circle

If you’re a Target shopper and not using Target Circle, then you’re losing out on free money. You can earn 1% back in rewards every time you shop, plus you can clip manufacturer coupons and exclusive Circle coupons. You can even stack these coupons with sales and rebate offers, too. New offers come out daily, but a big chunk becomes available on Sundays with the new Target weekly ad.

If you want to save even more, consider getting a Target RedCard. There’s either a debit or credit card option, but both will save you 5% instead of 1%. Plus, you’ll get free shipping on most orders from Target.com. The credit card has the same perks and benefits as the debit card, so choose whichever makes the most sense for you. Either way … the Target RedCard totally justifies your shopping trips!

 

Ulta Ultamate Rewards

Don’t bother shopping at Ulta without a free Ultamate Rewards membership. Ulta’s loyalty program is EVERYTHING, and it’s the key to getting free makeup, haircare, and other beauty products. You’ll earn one point per $1 spent at Ulta, plus tons of opportunities to earn 2x – 5x points on certain products and brands during bonus offers. You’ll also get a free birthday gift (2x points for your entire birthday month) and exclusive access to events.

If you spend at least $500 a year at Ulta, you’ll earn even more perks as a Platinum member. The highest Ultamate Rewards tier you can reach is Diamond, which gives you 1.5 points per $1 spent, free shipping on $25+ orders, and tons more member-only benefits.

Best Free Rewards Programs at Restaurants

Chick-fil-A One

Sign up for the Chick-fil-A One rewards program, and you’ll get 10 points for every pre-tax dollar you spend. Those points can then be redeemed for food items. And the more you spend, the more points you can earn. You’ll receive a birthday treat, exclusive coupons, insider content, and bonus point challenges.

Once you hit 1,000 points, you’ll become a Chick-fil-A One Silver member. With Silver Status, every dollar you spend will earn you 11 points. When you hit 5,000 points, you’ll become a Chick-fil-A One Red member. Then every dollar you spend will earn you 12 points.

Dunkin’ DD Perks

Join Dunkin’s loyalty program (aka DD Perks) and earn 10 points for every $1 you spend. You can start redeeming rewards at 150 points for things like an extra espresso shot, three munchkins, or hashbrowns. Two hundred fifty points get you a free donut, 400 points will get you a free tea, and 500 points gets you a free coffee. After that, the more points you earn, the better the freebies (like free crafted drinks, breakfast sandwiches, and bagels).

You’ll also get 3x points on purchases for your birthday and lots of other exclusive Dunkin’ offers.

 

Jersey Mike’s MyMike’s

MyMike’s is the Jersey Mike’s rewards program that gives you “Shore Points” with every purchase. You’ll earn three points for kids’ meals; four points for every mini-size sub or breakfast sandwich (where available); six points for every regular, wrap, or Sub-in-a-Tub; and 12 points for every giant sub. You can redeem 48 points for a free mini sub; 72 points for a free regular, wrap, or Sub-in-a-Tub; and 144 points for a free giant sub.

You’ll also get a free sub for your birthday, exclusive offers, and promotions like double Shore Point days.

MyMcDonald’s Rewards

The MyMcDonald’s Rewards program has some of the best free food coupons and freebies. You’ll earn 100 points for every $1 you spend and get 1,500 bonus points after your first purchase, too.

As a rewards member, you’ll earn exclusive coupons and offers. Use 1,500 points to get a free McChicken, hash brown, vanilla cone (if the ice cream machine is even working), or a cheeseburger. The more points you earn, the more rewards you’ll unlock.

Starbucks Rewards

With Starbucks Rewards, you’ll earn points (aka “Stars”) when you make purchases, which you can then redeem for free coffee, treats, and even merchandise. You’ll earn one Star per $1 if you pay with a credit card, debit card, or cash, and two Stars per $1 if you pay with a preloaded Starbucks Card.

You can start redeeming rewards at 25 Stars, but the more Stars you earn, the better freebies you get.

Heads up: The Starbucks Rewards Program is changing on Feb. 13, 2023.

 

 

Other Free Rewards Programs

AutoZone Rewards

When you spend $20 at AutoZone five times in 12 months, you’ll earn a $20 reward with AutoZone Rewards. You can continually earn these $20 rewards, too! Plus, you’ll get exclusive offers, customized deals, and more convenient ways to manage your service history.

 

Office Depot Rewards

Office Depot/OfficeMax Rewards members earn 2% back in rewards, plus VIPs earn 5% back on ink, toner, paper, and copy/print/ship services. Every month, they offer coupons and special deals like 100% back in bonus rewards when you purchase batteries or Keurig K-Cups, 30% back in bonus rewards on all ink and toner, and special member pricing. Writing reviews will get you $2 back in bonus rewards, and you can submit three per month.

To become a VIP member, you must spend $500 in a 12-month period.

Sally Rewards

If you shop at Sally Beauty often, join the free Sally Rewards program. You’ll earn 10 points per dollar (get $5 in rewards for every $50 you spend), plus free shipping when you spend at least $200 in a year. You also get exclusive savings and deals via email.

If you spend $200 or more in a calendar year, you’ll reach Elite status. With Elite, you’ll earn 12.5 points for every $1 spent, free shipping on all orders, and a birthday gift.
