Old car seats are kind of a pain to get rid of (since standard donation centers won't take them), but for the first time ever, Meijer's Supercenter locations offered a car seat trade-in event from Oct. 27 - Nov. 9, 2024. And you actually got something in return.
During the 2-week event, you could bring in any used car seat or stroller — even if it was damaged or expired — for Meijer to recycle. In return, you got a 25% off coupon you could use on a brand new baby item at Meijer though Nov. 23. But there are a few exclusions, which we lay out below.
This 25% off Meijer coupon is an even better value than the one you get during Target's Car Seat Trade-In event. And if you combine your savings with Meijer coupons and deals from the Meijer weekly ad, you could save even more.

Meijer Car Seat Trade-In was a first-ever event that gave you a 25% off coupon when you donated a used car seat or stroller.
This was the first time that Meijer hosted this event, as confirmed in their Oct. 22 press release. In exchange for donating a car seat or stroller, you could receive an mPerks coupon good for 25% off TWO future purchases of select baby items at Meijer.
Use your 25% off coupon by Nov. 23, 2024.
You have through Nov. 23, 2024, to use your 25% off coupon. The list of eligible items includes car seats, strollers, bassinets, and a few more items listed at the end of this post.
The Meijer Car Seat Trade-In event happened Oct. 27 - Nov. 9, 2024.
You had a 14-day window to bring in your used car seat or stroller to any Meijer Supercenter location. Look for the drop-off boxes located near the Customer Service area at the front of your store.
A sign on the donation box included an offer code — you just inputted this code into your mPerks account to claim your 25% off coupon.
KCL TIP: The trade-in event is only offered at Meijer Supercenter locations, not Meijer Express stores, Meijer Neighborhood Markets, or regular Meijer grocery stores.
Your first step is to join mPerks (if you're not a member already).
That's because you'll need a valid mPerks rewards account in order to claim your 25% off coupon, so make sure you sign up before you drop off your donation. Having a rewards account is also how you claim sale prices, and it's a must for couponing at Meijer.
Once you dropped off your old item, you could enter the promo code from the donation box to get your coupon.
They won't hand you a paper coupon when you drop off your donation — you're going to need to do just a little legwork to claim your 25% off coupon digitally.
Just enter the code you see on the donation box into mPerks, and the 25% off coupon will be loaded to your account. It's valid on two purchases of select baby gear from Oct. 27 - Nov. 23, 2024, and you can use it online or in store.

There's a select list of products you can apply your 25% off coupon to, and it's limited to a short list of baby items available at Meijer Supercenters or on Meijer.com.
