I hate to break it to you, but Rachel Green from Friends said it best: refrigerators don’t live as long as people.

Unfortunately, all major appliances have a limited lifespan. But when your rusty dishwasher or noisy washing machine needs replacing, it’s important to shop when the major sales hit. And Home Depot deals on appliances do not disappoint.

The best time to buy Home Depot appliances is in November, thanks to all the big Black Friday appliance sales. Their month-long event has a massive selection of deals on fridges, dishwashers, microwaves, laundry appliances, and more.

With that said, you don’t have to wait all year for deep discounts. Other sales can save you up to 45% on appliances. Plus, Home Depot’s in-store clearance deals can save you up to 70%.

The Krazy Coupon Lady closely tracks the Home Depot sales schedule year after year. I used our historical data to determine when the best appliance deals drop, and which sales get you the biggest savings.

A list of the best home depot sales for appliance deals in 2024 and deals to expect from each sale

Aim to save at least 30% on Home Depot appliances — sale or no sale.

The first rule of shopping for Home Depot appliances: never settle for full price.

Seriously, even during non-sale times, Home Depot has a hefty selection of appliance deals online. You’ll find them in the Appliance Special Buys section, year-round.

Aim for even bigger savings if you’re buying a new dishwasher. It’s not hard to find them on sale for 30% off or more, so I suggest shooting for 40% savings on dishwashers no matter what.

Best Home Depot Appliance Sales in 2024

The biggest discounts on appliances happen during the major Home Depot sales, which happen April through November each year.

Most people don’t know this, but the Home Depot Presidents Day Sale isn’t that great for appliance deals. Instead, think Spring Black Friday, Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Black Friday for the biggest discounts.

Here’s a full list of the best Home Depot appliance sales to shop in 2024:

Spring Black Friday Sale (April 4 - 28, 2024)

Sale Highlights: 20% - 45% off refrigerators and dishwashers

The Home Depot Spring Black Friday Sale in April gives you more than just lawn and garden savings. Surprisingly, it’s also one of their best events for kitchen appliance deals.

Behind holiday sales in November, Home Depot has the biggest variety of on-sale fridges and dishwashers for Spring Black Friday. And luckily, the sale lasts for most of April.

Expect to find up to 45% off GE and LG fridges, plus dishwashers from Samsung, Whirlpool, and Frigidaire for up to 40% off.

Memorial Day Sale (predicted May 16 - 29, 2024)

Sale Highlights: 40% off dishwashers and microwaves

You’ll have fewer deals to choose from during the Home Depot Memorial Day Sale. But discounts are high, especially for dishwashers and microwaves.

You may only find one or two deals for each. But while other appliances reach up to 30% off for Memorial Day, dishwashers and microwaves tend to get up to 40% off.

During last year’s sale, Home Depot had an Adora Tall-Tub Dishwasher for $628 (reg. $999) and an LG Over-the-Range Microwave for $298 (reg. $529).

4th of July Sale (predicted June 27 - July 10, 2024)

Sale Highlights: 30% - 40% off washers and dryers

The Home Depot 4th of July Sale is a great time to buy washers and dryers. Again, you’ll find a smaller selection of deals. But we’ve seen Samsung stackable washers and dryers for up to 40% off in the past. And if you’re in the market for both appliances, you’ll save up to $750 on the pair.

Pre-Black Friday Sale (predicted Oct. 31 - Nov. 20, 2024)

Sale Highlights: 30% - 45% off microwaves and oven ranges

Home Depot’s appliance sales are hot through the whole month of November.

They’ll drop a solid selection of appliance deals across the board. But microwaves and oven ranges tend to hit their best prices of the year for pre-Black Friday.

Expect to save 35% - 45% on GE and LG microwaves, and 30% - 40% on Frigidaire, Samsung, GE, and Whirlpool oven ranges.

Some refrigerators can also reach up to 45% off, but you’ll generally find bigger price drops during the main Black Friday event.

Black Friday Sale (Nov. 28 - Dec. 4, 2024)

Sale Highlights: 30% - 45% off refrigerators, dishwashers, washers, and dryers

The main Home Depot Black Friday event has the biggest selection of kitchen and laundry appliances on sale. Their annual Black Friday ad has pages (and pages) of deeply discounted items from top brands.

This is when you’ll find the lowest prices on high-end refrigerators. During last year’s sale, Home Depot had the Frigidaire French 4-Door Refrigerator for 46% off. It was on sale for $1,298 (reg. $2,399). Smart refrigerators also have discounts around 30%.

Black Friday deals on dishwashers give you easy 40% savings. Home Depot has a variety of tall-tub models on sale with prices starting at $400. And don’t dismiss the deals on washers and dryers, either. A handful of models from LG, Samsung, and Maytag are up to 40% off with prices starting at $628.

How to Find Secret Home Depot Appliance Clearance

Here’s a little-known fact about Home Depot appliances — floor models go on clearance right after a big sale. So all those display appliances in the store get price drops when an event like Black Friday ends.

At Home Depot, discounted floor models are similar to Lowe’s scratch and dent appliances. They’re dented or older models that Home Depot need to offload to make room for new inventory.

The Home Depot employee I spoke with said discounts start at 25%, but reach up to 70% if the item doesn’t sell. They’ll place new markdowns on these models every 2 - 3 weeks.

The downside? Home Depot doesn’t offer delivery on clearance appliances. You’ll have to pick it up yourself or rent a Home Depot truck to haul your item away.

You only have 48 hours to return major appliances to Home Depot.

Don’t forget, Home Depot gives you a limited timeframe to return appliances.

The Home Depot return policy states a short, 48-hour window to report any damage or defects back to the store. The clock starts ticking at the time of your appliance delivery.

After 48 hours, you’ll have to rely on your warranty and contact the manufacturer about any issues.
