The Hobby Lobby Black Friday "sale" runs for all of Thanksgiving week, but it’s pretty similar to their normal weekly sales.
The Black Friday sale at Hobby Lobby isn’t exactly a separate sale. It’s just the deals that happen to go live during the week of Thanksgiving and Black Friday. But since Hobby Lobby’s weekly sales always follow a regular pattern, it’s pretty easy to predict when the next sale will happen and what the markdowns will be.
The best deals are always the fall items, which are marked down by 90% if you shop in stores. If you shop for fall items online, the savings usually max out at 75% — and you’ll face hefty shipping fees. Besides the fall deals, you’ll also typically find 50% off holiday categories like artificial Christmas trees and ornaments during the weeklong Hobby Lobby Black Friday sale.
KCL predicts the next Hobby Lobby Black Friday Sale will begin Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024.
Hobby Lobby hasn’t officially announced the next date for their Black Friday sale, but based on what they've done in recent years, we here at KCL predict that it’ll take place between Sunday, Nov. 24, and Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024.
Since Hobby Lobby stores are closed on Sundays, the first day of the sale is online-only, with in-store deals arriving on the Monday before Black Friday (Nov. 25, 2024).
How do we make our prediction?
Hobby Lobby has experimented with different lengths and date ranges for their Black Friday Sale, but more often than not, it takes place starting the Sunday before Thanksgiving (online, or Monday in-stores), running through the Saturday afterward. We expect the same format in 2024.
Hobby Lobby Black Friday deals are available in-store or online — but in-store deals are usually better.
You can take advantage of the Black Friday deals at Hobby Lobby either in-store or online, but since Hobby Lobby stores are closed on Sundays, the first day of the sale (the Sunday before Thanksgiving) happens online only. But if you’re shopping for fall decor, I recommend going in store to get the biggest discounts (90% off).

Doorbusters aren't a thing at Hobby Lobby, but they do offer extended Black Friday hours.
Hobby Lobby stores open an hour earlier than usual on Black Friday and the Saturday after Thanksgiving (starting at 8 a.m. instead of the normal 9 a.m.), giving you some extra time to shop. Their closing hours also get extended to 9 p.m. on those two days, which is an hour later than usual.
Is Hobby Lobby open on Thanksgiving 2024?
Hobby Lobby is one of those stores that is always closed on Thanksgiving Day, and we expect them to be closed on Thanksgiving Day in 2024, too. But they’ll reopen the next day, on Black Friday at 8 a.m. local time.

Price Matching: Hobby Lobby won’t price match competitors’ holiday doorbuster ads, clearance deals, or closeout items, per their policy, so you likely won’t be able to claim a price match at Hobby Lobby during Black Friday sales. But you can still claim a Hobby Lobby price adjustment in-store if you see the price drop within 14 days of your purchase.
Rain Checks: Hobby Lobby will offer rain checks if a specific item is on sale at your store and is out of stock; just ask an associate for help. However, they won’t offer a rain check if an entire category is on sale (like “Entire Stock of Unfinished Craft Wood”).
Shipping: Hobby Lobby shipping fees start at $7.95 for orders up to $15, and the fees go up from there. But they usually drop a free shipping offer from Thanksgiving Day until Cyber Monday for orders of $50 or more.
Returns: Hobby Lobby’s standard return policy is in effect during Black Friday, so you’ll have 90 days to return your in-store purchases. To return an online order via mail, you’ll need to print and fill out the Hobby Lobby Return Form, then include that with your return shipment.
Don’t expect any special Hobby Lobby Cyber Monday deals — they treat it as a regular sale week.
Once the Hobby Lobby Black Friday week deals expire on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, they continue with their normal Hobby Lobby sale schedule.
During the week of Cyber Monday, the 75% - 90% off fall discounts generally disappear and get replaced with Hobby Lobby’s rotating sale categories (like 40% off candles, 40% off floral, and 40% off crafts).
Luckily their 50% off Christmas deals do stick around online and in store during the week of Cyber Monday. But the Christmas markdowns get better as the weeks go on, reaching 75% off by Dec. 25 and even 90% off by Jan. 1 (though inventory is pretty limited by then).
