Dollar General Black Friday is a 3-day sale with some deals reserved for Black Friday only.
During the week of Black Friday, Dollar General always hosts an expanded version of their Deal Days event with up to 50% off a wider selection of holiday decor, BOGO 75% off toys, sale prices on small kitchen appliances, and more.
Certain deals are reserved for Friday only, but the rest of the deals are shoppable Thursday through Saturday while supplies last.
The Dollar General Black Friday sale is happening Nov. 28 - 30.
According to leaked copies of the 4-page Dollar General Black Friday ad we found on Nov. 12, it's confirmed that the Dollar General Black Friday sale will take place Thursday, Nov. 28 - Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024.
Not all Dollar General Black Friday deals are available online, so shop in store to avoid delivery fees.
Dollar General launched online shopping back in 2019. However, even after a few years, you can't shop all the Dollar General Black Friday items online or in the DG app. That's why we say it's best to shop Dollar General Black Friday deals in store, even on Thanksgiving Day. You'll also avoid FedEx shipping costs, which can vary.

MyDG Rewards members can get cash back offers, digital coupons, and early access to new items and deals, but that doesn't seem to matter during Black Friday. Dollar General plays fair, giving all shoppers the same starting time for Black Friday deals.

Doorbusters aren't a thing at Dollar General Black Friday, but Rhode Island, Maine, and Massachusetts shoppers get a few extra deals.
In 2023, shoppers in Rhode Island, Maine, and Massachusetts had several items exclusive to their states. For example, while shoppers in these three states saw a 50% discount on artificial trees and lights, shoppers in other states saw $35 artificial trees and $2 lights. The Northeast stores also had an exclusive BOGO 50% off "As Seen on TV" deal and 15% off Lowe's gift cards last year.
Shop toys during the Dollar General Sale when they're BOGO 75% off.
The buy one get one 75% off select toys deal is a staple of the Dollar General Black Friday Sale. You'll need to look for the blue or yellow star or blue dot on their tags. These tag symbols indicate they're seasonal toys, not year-round products, so they need to move them out.
Last year, over 2,000 toys (regularly $1 - $50) were BOGO 75% off. Brands including Play-Doh, Barbie, and Disney were part of the sale. You can also use a 25% off when you spend $75 on toys in single transaction, but you can't combine the two deals.
Although last year's 25% off $75 toy purchase deal excluded Lego, LOL and coloring books, in 2024, we see it only excludes Lego.

Price Matching: Dollar General doesn't price match competitor ad prices during Black Friday or any other time. However, if you buy something in the DG app and the price changes by the time you pick it up in store, Dollar General will adjust the price to what it was when you placed the order.
Rain Checks: Unfortunately, there are no rain checks available at Dollar General.
Shipping: Dollar General free shipping is very rare, but store pickup is always free.
Local Delivery: Dollar General offers same-day delivery via DoorDash. Prices vary.
Returns: If you're not satisfied with any purchase you make through the DG app, you can return items according to your local store's return policy.
Layaway: Dollar General doesn't offer layaway.
Dollar General doesn't have a traditional Cyber Monday sale the Monday after Thanksgiving.
Dollar General doesn't have a traditional Cyber Monday sale on the Monday after Black Friday. Instead, last year they held a 3-day Dollar Days savings event Nov. 30 - Dec. 2, 2023. We expect the same event this year from Dec. 5 - 7.
