And boy, did they come through with some recommendations for me (and you). Cheap holiday decorations came up (like artificial trees as low as $39), as did Pioneer Woman cookware and Walmart toy deals that are an even better deal than Target's.

What Our Editors Are Shopping for at Walmart This Season

Prices quoted below were valid for my local Walmart store in Florida, so your local pricing could vary.

1. A new pair of Crocs for as low as $19.88 (60% off).

Walmart frequently slashes the price on Crocs Unisex Baya Clog Sandals down to just $24.99 (regularly $49.99) during their big holiday sales. And the prices can go even lower when certain colors get clearanced out.

Many colors are already on sale for $34.99 right now, and the Citrus and Digital Violet colors are just $19.88 (limited sizes).

Our take: "If my dog chews up my Crocs again, I know to jump on that sale price as soon as it goes live." — Mairyn B.

2. A Pioneer Woman Dutch oven for $39.97 (or maybe even cheaper on Black Friday).

Walmart is one of our favorite places to buy Pioneer Woman cookware, and KCL readers are always shopping for deals on them. One of the deals our team will be watching for on Nov. 25 is a sale price on this 5-Quart Pioneer Woman Dutch Oven (regularly $39.97 in the linen color).

Our take: "I've been wanting to get into baking sourdough bread and I'm a huge Pioneer Woman fan, so I'm hoping to find this Pioneer Woman 5-Quart Dutch Oven on sale." — Jill G.

3. Fall decor like pumpkins and seasonal signs — cheaper than Target's.

Even though Target's seasonal decorations are tempting, Walmart usually beats them on price. For example, Walmart's 10-inch pumpkin-shaped fabric pillows are marked down as low as $1.20 in store (regularly $11.97), while Target has similar pumpkin-shaped velvet pillows that are still priced at $20.

Our take: "While I love Target’s collections, Walmart is usually the more affordable option for pumpkins and seasonal signs." — Mairyn B.

KCL TIP: We wrote a whole post comparing Target vs. Walmart prices on dozens of everyday items — and you may be surprised who won.

4. Holiday wrapping paper for around $3 a roll.

walmart-best-finds-kcl-11

After crunching the numbers on wrapping paper costs last year, we determined that Walmart has some of the best deals on wrapping paper out of all the major retailers (they tied with Target and Dollar Tree for the cheapest price per square foot, at $0.03).

KCL team member Mairyn agrees, telling me that Walmart's holiday wrapping paper is a must-buy during the fall season.

Our take: "I always buy my wrapping paper at Walmart for Christmas. There are usually a lot of prints to choose from, and it's affordable." — Mairyn B.

5. A SaluSpa inflatable hot tub for under $200 (normally $500+).

Any time we see the price on a SaluSpa hot tub at Walmart drop under $300, it sells out. And we fully expect that to happen when the Walmart Black Friday deals get underway this season.

We're already finding a deal on a SaluSpa Inflatable Hot Tub for $288 at Walmart for November 2024.

But in fall 2023, we shared a deal for a Mossy Oak SaluSpa hot tub for just $198 (regularly $524), which was its biggest price drop of the year.

6. Artificial Christmas trees for $39 — 36% cheaper than Target.

If you want to spend less than $50 on a new artificial Christmas tree, Walmart makes that happen during the holiday season. Our team is eyeing this 6.5-foot Holiday Time Pre-Lit Tree (currently $39), which comes in three colors and includes 250 color-changing lights.

Our take: "It’s not on sale, but compared to a similar one at Target for $55 [currently out of stock], it’s a major steal." — Shelbi K.

7. A set of two pre-lit porch trees for $33 (much cheaper than Home Depot).

A cheap Walmart find that everyone on our team is loving right now is this 2-pack of 3.5-foot Artificial Christmas Trees for $33. The set includes decorative plastic pots and can be used inside or outside.

For comparison's sake, you'd pay $44.98 for just one pre-lit porch tree at Home Depot.

8. Melissa & Doug toys and puzzles as low as $5 for Black Friday.

KCL deal hunter Mairyn told me she's shopping for Melissa & Doug toys at Walmart this Black Friday so she can stock up on gifts for her niece. And now that the first wave of Walmart Black Friday deals is here, we're already seeing some price drops, and we expect the deals to get even better as the weeks go on.

Our take: "Usually, Walmart has steep discounts on Melissa and Doug wooden puzzles. Last year they were $5 on sale [during Black Friday], so I’m hoping for that same price drop this year." — Mairyn B.

9. Men's Wrangler jeans for as low as $13 a pair (35% off) during Black Friday sales.

When I asked the KCL team about the deals they're hoping to see during this year's Walmart Black Friday sale, they mentioned these Men's Wrangler Jeans (regularly $19.98) that come in a dozen colors.

Last year, the jeans went on sale for as low as $13 a pair, and our team hopes to see that sale price return again during the second wave of Walmart's Black Friday sale, which starts Nov. 25.

Our take: "My husband goes through denim like crazy and I need a deal to stock the closet." — Shelbi K.

10. Digital photo frames for less than $50 during Black Friday.

walmart-best-finds-kcl-13

One of the most-shopped Walmart deals for KCL readers last holiday season was a 10-inch Simply Smart Digital Photo Frame for as low as $49 (currently $64). We're hoping for — and expecting — this hot deal price to return in 2024, given how popular the deal was last year.

Our take: "I’m thinking this year there will be some better deals [on digital photo frames]." — Danielle L.

11. Foldable sofa beds under $200 to get a restock.

Our team is also watching for furniture deals at Walmart this holiday season. KCL deal hunter Danielle L. told me that she's eyeing this Aukfa foldable sofa bed for $175 (currently out of stock), hoping to see it get restocked and drop even lower in price during upcoming sales.

Our take: "I’m waiting to see if Walmart will drop the price so I can score it for less than $150. I’ve seen one on Amazon in the $400s." — Danielle L.

Bonus: a Walmart Plus membership (50% off until Dec. 2).

Okay, this last Walmart find isn't technically an item. But KCL deal writers told me that they love their Walmart Plus membership and would recommend signing up whenever there's an active deal — like the one happening now through Dec. 2, 2024 where you can save 50% on your first year of membership.

Our take: "I personally love my Walmart+ membership and recommend it to everyone who asks," KCL Deal Writer Shelbi told me. "I like the free shipping aspect and especially the free grocery delivery. I was able to get my first year half-off during the Walmart Deals Event [in July]."

However, if you're already a paid member of the Target 360 program, it's likely not worth the extra spend. "If you have Target 360, I don’t think you need both," says KCL Deal Manager Mairyn. "I would recommend choosing whichever same-day delivery option has a store closest to your house."
