Is Amazon the best place to purchase Valentine's Day cards?
So far, Amazon has the best selection, especially when it comes to ordering bulk sets for a classroom of 20 kids or more. Most stores will offer packs of just 16 cards at the most for similar pricing, and we several of these deals come out to under $0.50 each.
How does Amazon's bulk card sets compare to pricing at competitors?
Aldi had a great deal for a kids' Valentine's Day card set (8-pack) for $1.99. That brings you to a total of $0.25 each, which is comparable to Amazon's lowest priced sets.
Walmart's catching up to these prices too. Overall, prices are comparable, but the best price we saw on Valentine's Day cards for kids was $2.98 for a 32-pack That comes out to $0.09 each, which we still haven't seen on Amazon. Still, that was a standalone deal, and most others are priced just about the same as Amazon.
When is the best time to buy Valentine's Day cards?
If you're considering shopping early, we saw the best prices on Valentine's Day cards on Amazon in early January, when they started to pop up. We saw savings of up to 60%, either coming from coupons or store discounts.
However, if you want the absolute best price on Valentine's Day cards, shop as early as the year prior. You can find savings of up to 80% sometimes when you shop right after the holiday as stores are starting to clear shelves for Easter.
