The Ibotta Thanksgiving offer looks different this year. New and existing users have two different experiences, but both result in free food for your Thanksgiving meal. The new user experience is pretty close to what we saw from Ibotta last year, but the existing user offer is actually more lucrative and allows flexibility.

In a nutshell, new users can create their own Thanksgiving Bundle and earn Ibotta cash back when they buy one of two items in five food categories. Existing users select a cash back bonus of $20, $25, $30, or $40 and redeem a specific amount of offers to earn the cash back — then spend it on any Thanksgiving ingredients of their choice, like a free Thanksgiving turkey.

Here's everything you need to know about the Ibotta Thanksgiving dinner deal — for new and existing users — including deadlines, instructions, and a few tips.

The Ibotta Thanksgiving offer is a yearly promo to earn a Thanksgiving meal at little to no cost.

This year, Ibotta changed up the offer for existing users you're required to redeem a set number of offers — which vary by account — to complete a Thanksgiving bonus of up to $40.

New Ibotta users and SNAP members still get 100% cash back on their Thanksgiving meal — but are limited to their shopping choices.

Begin earning towards your Ibotta Thanksgiving meal on Nov. 1, 2024.

Free Ibotta Thanksgiving Meal — November 2024 (1)

Existing Ibotta users got an email on Oct. 25, 2024, to choose their Thanksgiving bonus by Oct. 31. If a bonus wasn't chosen, you received the $20 cash back bonus automatically. All shoppers — new and existing — began earning towards their selected bonuses on Nov. 1, 2024.

How to activate the 2024 Ibotta Thanksgiving bonus.

Ibotta-Bonus-Thanksgiving-Your-Way

  3. Complete your bonus by purchasing all of the items you selected.

Month long Thanksgiving Bonus Offer — for existing Ibotta users:

  1. Select your bonus for November (listed below)

  2. Review the number of required offers needed to redeem your cash back bonus (this varies by account)

  3. Redeem any Ibotta offers of your choice towards your bonus Nov. 1 - 30

  4. Upload receipts to your Ibotta account

  5. Earn cash back once you’ve completed the necessary amount of offers

  6. Shop for any of your favorite Thanksgiving dinner ingredients using your cash bonus

Available bonuses for existing users:

  • Cranberry Crawl: $20 cash back

  • Pumpkin Prance - $25 cash back

  • Gravy Gallop - $30 cash back

  • Stuffing Sprint - $40 cash back

Existing users have to redeem a set amount of offers to redeem their bonus — and it varies by account.

While you had to redeem offers last year to unlock your cash back bonuses, it was the same across the board for all users. This year, each account will need to redeem a specific amount of offers that is __ to their account.

For example, I need to redeem 40 Ibotta offers to unlock my Cranberry Crawl $20 cash back bonus. Another KCL staffer on my team selected the $40 cash back option and has to redeem 86 offers, while another staffer selected the same $40 cash back option and only has to redeem 75 offers.

TIP: The monthlong bonuses expire at 11:50 p.m. MT on Nov. 30, 2024.

The offer for existing customers is better this year than it was last year.

Last year, new and existing users could get 100% cash back on their entire Thanksgiving meal, but had to select items from a very specific list.

Here’s what the items and rebates looked like last year:

  • 14 lb. turkey, Ibotta Rebate: $14.35

  • Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix, Ibotta Rebate: $0.75

  • Idahoan Mashed Potatoes, Ibotta Rebate: $1.60

  • Canned Ocean Spray Cranberry Sauce, Ibotta Rebate: $2.65

  • McCormick Gravy Mix, Ibotta Rebate: $1.15

  • Total cash back: $20.50

This year, existing users can get up to $40 cash back and use it to purchase any Thanksgiving ingredients they choose. So you could potentially get between 22% - 95% more back this year, if you selected the $25, $30, or $40 cash back options.

What offers do SNAP-eligible users get for Thanksgiving?

What you get as a SNAP-eligible user is based on when you joined the SNAP Rewards program. Here are the three different options:

  • If you were an existing user also already enrolled in SNAP Rewards before to Nov. 1, you'll get the new-user Thanksgiving Bundle, month longmonthlong bonus offer, and two additional offers.

  • If you're an existing user who joins SNAP Rewards after Nov. 1, you'll just get the monthlong bonus offer and two additional offers.

  • If you're a new user who joins SNAP Rewards anytime in November, you'll receive the Thanksgiving Bundle and two additional offers.
