KitchenAid mixers are so worth it. But, we all know they’re expensive. On average, the classic Artisan Series Tilt-Head Stand Mixers start at $329.99, and these will have a smaller bowl capacity of 3.5 or 4 quarts. Bigger ones that have a 5-quart capacity or more or come with attachments and accessories, start at $400.
The good news is that KitchenAid often goes on sale, (a bunch are up to $120 off on Amazon right now) and they offer tons of value to all your kitchen needs.
The trick to knowing you got the absolute best value? Well, first think about how you’re using it. If you’re using it for just baking, you probably don’t need the fancy slicer, shredder, or spiral attachments. And if you’re generally baking for a family of four, a 3.5 or 4-quart capacity should be plenty.
To help you out, I rounded up the best KitchenAid stand mixers you can buy, where to get them, plus tricks on how to save on each one. Let me start you off with a fun one: KitchenAid just slashed up to $100 off select stand mixers on their site. I’m not sure how long this sale will last, but thought I’d share!

Best Overall KitchenAid Stand Mixer
Artisan Series 5-Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer
If you’re baking everyday, I recommend the Artisan Series 5-Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer because of its large capacity and ability to handle various recipes. It’s the best at kneading, mixing, and whipping through thin and thick consistencies. The Artisan normally retails for $449.99, but if you go with a refurbished model (KitchenAid.com, $224.99), you can save 50%.
What does “refurbished” mean, exactly? Refurbished models might have cosmetic blemishes or scratches. Or they might’ve been used on a photo shoot for the brand. Some refurbished models come back to the factory from consumers, but some have never been used before.
According to the KitchenAid website, all have been “cleaned, inspected, and returned to original mechanical and electrical condition.” And if they were returned for whatever , they are repaired. You might see minor scratches and won’t be able to pick out your own color, but going refurbished will save you up to $200.

Best KitchenAid Stand Mixer for BeginnersClassic Series 4.5-Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer
Available in just black and white, the Classic Series KitchenAid Stand Mixer ($292, Walmart) is great for entry-level users. It comes with a 4.5 quart capacity, which is plenty for whipping up cookies and shortbreads. It has more than 10 speeds, so it can accommodate any task from gentle stirring to powerful whipping. I like that the tilt-head design makes it easy to add ingredients.
While the regular retail price is $329.99, I found it under $300 at Walmart.com. Keep in mind that it’s not stocked in-store, but you can order it online and pick it up or have it delivered directly to you.
If you shop regularly at Kohl’s, you won’t be able to use coupons for KitchenAid stand mixers. However, you can use the purchase to earn $60 in Kohl’s Cash.
Best KitchenAid Stand Mixer for Small Kitchens
Artisan Mini 3.5-Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer
Here’s where we start getting into all the fun color options for KitchenAid mixers. There are 10 finishes available on this model (KitchenAid, $379.99), although most of them are a shade of black, white, gray, and red. There is one icy blue hue.
The benefit of the Artisan Mini KitchenAid mixer is that it’s more compact. It’s smaller and weighs about 28% less than the Classic Series KitchenAid mixer, but it’s just as powerful. Because it’s so much lighter, it would also be a smart buy if you plan to store it in a cabinet instead of leaving it on the countertop.
Best KitchenAid Stand Mixer for Versatility
Artisan Series 5-Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer
Serious home cooks and bakers will want to take a closer look at this model (KitchenAid, $449.99). It costs a little more than the others on our list, but it’s a durable countertop appliance. With a 5-quart capacity and three stirring tools, it can handle the rigors of daily homecooked meals and frequent baking. It also comes in more than 20 shades. What a fun way to add a splash of color to your kitchen!
This is one of the most popular models of KitchenAid mixers. Before you buy, be sure to price-check multiple retailers for deals. We found one on Walmart.com for $419 in the Empire Red color only. If you aren’t set on a specific color, you could save as much as $30 on an Artisan Series KitchenAid mixer.
Best KitchenAid Stand Mixer for Large Batches
Professional 600 Series 6 Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer
The name says it all. If you’re launching an at-home cookie or cupcake business (or you have a big family to feed), you may want to consider upgrading to a KitchenAid bowl-lift stand mixer (KitchenAid, $549.99). The lifted design features three locking points for more stability. The 6-quart bowl capacity means you can make a bigger batch (up to 13 dozen cookies) every time you get to work.
If you shop KitchenAid’s refurbished models, you could buy this professional 600 series mixer for as low as $219.99! There are limited colors available with the refurbished models, but for 60% off the original price, this is the cheapest way to get the most bang for your buck.
