Inflation continues to cripple many Americans’ budgets, making a traditional Thanksgiving feast a stretch for some. To help you keep money in your pocket this holiday season, Aldi and Walmart are scaling back their Thanksgiving dinner cost.

While the average price of turkeys in 2024 is expected to drop 16% over last year, according to the Wells Fargo Agri-Food Institute, sweet potatoes and russet potatoes have jumped 4% and 14%, respectively.

Thankfully, some Walmart turkeys will be priced at under $1 per pound, and sweet potatoes are $1.06 a piece (pre-inflation prices) through Dec. 25, making your Christmas and Hanukkah meal shopping less painful on your wallet, too.

You can also save on holiday goodies and essentials this year with the best Walmart Black Friday deals and the early Black Friday sale at Target.

Like last year, Walmart has announced Thanksgiving staples including ham, potatoes, and stuffing will again have pre-inflation prices this holiday season. Turkey will be under $1/lb. All the holiday fixings are available at Walmart.com and in the Walmart app for pickup or delivery as soon as 30 minutes and up to 90 minutes.

The savings will last through Dec. 25, 2024.

You can shop Walmart’s inflation-free Thanksgiving items now.

This year, Aldi is offering a Thanksgiving dinner "basket" that can feed 10 people for about $4.70 per person.

Aldi’s price reductions include Thanksgiving dinner favorites like a Butterball turkey and baking essentials. Plus, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, mac & cheese, prosciutto, and specialty cheeses are discounted this year.

Discounts are valid through Nov. 27, 2024, so if you want to do some grocery shopping on Black Friday, you’ll still be able to enjoy these price reductions.
