I went on a mission to find every single place to get coupons and came up with this ultimate list.

I pored over sales ads, emails, store receipts, lists of discount coupon companies, and even bathroom stalls (don’t worry, I washed my hands) to bring you every possible place where you'll find coupons. From the obvious to the obscure, my list covers them all.

Whether you’re just getting started with learning how to coupon or you’re already a seasoned saver, this list covers the how — and where — of finding all types of coupons. And you'll definitely want to learn to use rebate apps to find additional savings there!

Before you start searching for coupons, download the KCL app for coupons, sales, and deals. Then text HACKS to 57299 for more money-saving tips.

Where (and How) To Get Coupons

Where To Get Grocery Coupons

newspaper-subscription-coupon-deals-savings-2022-9

I have a rule for my family that if it's not on sale or we don't have a coupon for it — we don't buy it! Once you learn how to get coupons for groceries (and where to find them), you'll be saving more money at the register in no time.

Claim Sunday newspaper coupons for free or through a subscription.

You can find free newspaper coupons left behind in your local coffee shop, libraries, post office, or waiting rooms. Or, wait until Monday and ask local businesses if they have any leftover newspapers they can give you.

Also check out Discounted Newspapers for potentially cheaper newspaper subscriptions — you'll just enter your ZIP code to see what you can save.

Find free coupons in grocery stores.

When you’re shopping in a store, there are a few different ways you can get free coupons. The first thing you should do is pick up the in-store sales flyer. Not only will the ad show you the current sale, but it'll also sometimes contain exclusive coupons that pair with the sale ad!

Grab free manufacturer coupons directly on products.

While you’re shopping at the store, look out for these free manufacturer coupons:

  • Peelies (adhesive coupons)

  • Hangtag coupons

  • Tear-pad coupons

  • Blinkies (coupons that pop out of a little dispenser with a blinking light)

  • Inside the package

Cereal boxes are notorious for having peelies slapped right on the box. And remember, just because you found these coupons doesn’t mean you have to use them right away.

Get printable grocery coupons on the web.

There are multiple dedicated coupon sites out there. Thankfully, we do the hard work for you at The Krazy Coupon Lady. KCL has the web’s most comprehensive database of free printable coupons.

Here’s how to print exactly what you’re looking for:

  • Search for the item or brand (“detergent,” “Tide,” etc.).

  • Click on the “Printable” section.

  • Choose a coupon and you’ll be taken to the website to print. Depending on the site, you may need to sign up to access the coupon.

Sign up for a store loyalty program.

Make sure to sign up for emails and text alerts from your favorite grocery stores. Store loyalty programs will give you access to digital store coupons, and sometimes you'll even be able to save at the gas pump and earn cash back, too. With stores like Kroger, you can rack up cash-back deals using your loyalty grocery card.

Use coupon apps to get digital coupons.

Stores like Kroger, Target, Publix, and Winn-Dixie have digital coupons you clip right to your account. They make it pretty simple to just clip the coupon then enter your phone number or loyalty number at checkout to redeem. No scissors or printing needed!

Keep the savings going with cash-back apps like Ibotta.

The savings don’t stop with just coupons. Before you head to the store, be sure to check out our Ultimate Guide to Rebate Apps. You’ll learn exactly how to save even more money with rebate apps — including how to use manufacturer coupons with rebate apps to stack your savings.

Start by downloading one (or more) of these rebate or cash-back apps:

Shop for groceries on Amazon.

Before you roll your eyes at me, buying your groceries from Amazon can save you money and time!

Amazon Subscribe & Save is a great way to get an even deeper discount on Amazon items. Subscribe & Save deals are pretty good, but when you stack them with Amazon coupons, they’re even better. When you have five or more items subscribed, you’ll get 15% off each item. That’s in addition to any coupons or sales.

KCL TIP: Shopping for diapers? Amazon Family members get 20% off of baby products in their Subscribe & Save orders.

Where To Get Drugstore Coupons

Many of the tricks we're using at the grocery store can apply at drugstores, too. Whether you shop at a national chain like CVS or Walgreens or a local pharmacy, there are lots of ways to get coupons. Use the tips from the grocery section above, then check out these extras exclusive to drugstores.

Clip digital coupons on your local pharmacy's website.

Just like grocery stores, drugstores offer digital coupons you can clip to your loyalty card. Stores like Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid offer personalized coupons as well. The more you shop there, the more the store will learn what products you like — and offer personalized coupons for those items in the future.

Look for free manufacturer coupons on products.

Just like the grocery store, you can find free manufacturer coupons at the drugstore. Keep an eye out for these coupons:

  • Peelies (adhesive coupons)

  • Hangtag coupons

  • Tear-pad coupons

  • Blinkies (coupons that pop out of a little dispenser with a blinking light)

  • Inside the package

Look for free coupons printed at the register.

Not all drugstores have Catalina machines, but some do. Look for these types of coupons that print at the register or on the bottom/back of your receipt. You don’t have to be a part of a loyalty program to get these types of register rewards, either.

Use apps to get prescription discount coupons.

Save on your prescriptions with a coupon app. There are a few discount coupon companies to choose from:

Ask your doctor for a coupon or a free sample (which will nearly always have coupons inside).

The next time you visit your doctor, don’t be afraid to ask if they have any free samples. Not only does this give you the chance to try a product for free, but it nearly always gives you the chance to find a prescription discount coupon inside that can be used on the full-size product.

Look for coupons in free product samples.

We found a bunch of sites where you can get free samples without filling out surveys. I have often received high-value coupons with these samples, and the best part is they’re mailed directly to you for free!

Don't throw out junk mail — it often has hidden coupons.

Check your mailbox for direct mailers from your local grocery store. Look for grocery coupons in magazines, too.

Sign up for a grocery delivery service for first-timer coupons and promo codes.

Grocery delivery services like Instacart and Shipt will often offer coupons and promo codes to new customers. They’ll sometimes send coupons when you haven’t ordered in a while, too.

You can also get some awesome savings with Walmart+ Delivery promos, like a whopping $25 off a $75 order.

Download your favorite restaurant's app.

While you’re signing up for the restaurant’s loyalty programs, be sure to download their apps, too. Restaurants love to promote certain offers just to their app members. Where To Get Retail Coupons

Save on clothing, electronics, home items, personal goods, and much more once you know where to look for retail coupons.

Bookmark KCL's store pages.

You think we’re going to let you pay full price for retail items? Heck no! We have a dedicated page for deals at each of the top retail stores.

Create a separate email account just for the welcome coupons.

Don’t use your main email to sign up for store promos — you’ll get buried under a mountain of spam. I use 10minutemail.com to get a temporary email address, grab the promo code when it hits my inbox, and boom — the account goes away. Buuuttt I still have the promo code.
