Dollar Tree Doesn't Have an App, But Here's What I Do To Get Cash Back

The Krazy Coupon Lady is an ad-supported service. Many offers on our site contain affiliate links, and we may earn a small commission if you make a purchase using them. Some posts are sponsored by the maker of the product, and we receive a fee for the post. See our full advertiser disclosure.

While Dollar Tree (still!) doesn’t have their own app, you can save money and even get items for free at Dollar Tree just by downloading a few other cash-back rebate apps to your phone.

Grabbing Dollar Tree freebies with rebate apps is one of my favorite dollar store shopping tips. Plus, by combining rebates with manufacturer coupons, you can earn moneymakers if the timing’s right!

Here are all the apps you can use to get money back — and earn free stuff — when you shop at Dollar Tree.

Bookmark our Dollar Tree deals page so you never miss a deal. Then text HACKS to 57299 so we can send you more smart shopping tips and savings hacks.

1. Download the Krazy Coupon Lady app to hunt for Dollar Tree coupons and freebies.

You can also use our Dollar Tree coupons page to quickly see all the available offers — including any freebies. Just remember, with the Dollar Tree coupon policy, they won’t give you any cashback (aka overage) if your coupon is worth more than the item. But I’ll show you how to get around that below.

Also, remember that Dollar Tree only accepts two printable internet coupons per day from a single customer.

2. Use Ibotta rebates with manufacturer coupons at Dollar Tree for Ibotta moneymakers.

Well, they won’t, but when you use a separate rebate app like Ibotta and stack an offer with manufacturer coupons at Dollar Tree, Ibotta will be the one to pay you the overage.

But, beware because Dollar Tree has odd sizes for many of their name-brand products, and this disqualifies them from a lot of the size requirements you’ll see in the fine print on manufacturer coupons. Basically, always read the fine print to make sure the Dollar Tree item qualifies.

Here’s what I did to earn a quick $0.50 in my Ibotta account AND get a free Suave Body Wash:

  • Buy 1 Suave Body Wash at $1.25

  • Use $0.75/1 Suave Body Wash manufacturer coupon at the register

  • Pay $0.50 at the register

  • Submit $0.75/1 Suave body wash Ibotta offer

  • Final Price: $0.25 Moneymaker!

3. Use the Coupons.com site for easy Dollar Tree freebies.

Coupons.com offers rebates on many brands that Dollar Tree carries. Check out this almost-freebie I just saw at Dollar Tree on Pirate’s Booty snacks:

  • Buy 1 Pirate’s Booty, 4 ounces at $1.25, regular price

  • Pay $1.25, submit for $1 Coupons.com credit

  • Final Price: $0.25

After you redeem rebates, they’ll show up right in your PayPal account, with no minimum required.

4. Use Checkout51 to rack up some cash (usually around $1) on certain purchases.

Here’s a near-freebie opportunity that caught my eye:

  • Buy 1 Halls Cough Drops, 14 count at $1.25, regular price

  • Pay $1, submit for $1 Checkout51 credit

  • Final Price: $0.25

Once you hit $20 on your Checkout51 account, you can request a check and cash out your earnings.

5. Claim cash-back deals with Shopmium — like $1 off Colgate or $1.50 off Tylenol.

Like other coupons and app deals at Dollar Tree, you’ll need to look closely at the size requirements for the product discount in order to claim your cashback.

Some Shopmium deals will also exclude certain stores. Although I didn’t see any deals specifically excluding Dollar Tree when I checked, it’s always good to be sure.

TIP: Signing up for Shopmium is free, and you’ll get a free gift when you create your account. My gift was a full rebate for Pillsbury Ready-to-Bake Cookies.

6. Scan your Dollar Tree receipt to earn about $0.03 with Fetch Rewards.

Plus, you’ll get extra points for scanning a receipt that includes certain brands Dollar Tree carries like Kleenex and Lay’s. For example, I recently saw an offer for 740 points for spending $15 on Kleenex products, which would earn you the equivalent of about $0.85 in Fetch rebates.

Once you earn about 3,500 points, you can redeem it for a $4 Amazon or Target gift card.

7. Use TopCashback for 2.2% cash back on your online Dollar Tree orders.

Plus, look for special freebie deals from TopCashback. For example, I’ve seen them offer $10 back when you spend $10 on dish towels on DollarTree.com.

TIP: Dollar Tree doesn’t accept coupons for online purchases, but you CAN get money back when you use TopCashback with your online Dollar Tree purchases.

8. Scan at least 76 Dollar Tree receipts with ReceiptPal and get a $5 Amazon gift card.

You can cash these points out for freebies like a $5 Amazon gift card for 2,200 points.

9. Use the CoinOut app to build up some cash (around $0.10) on your next Dollar Tree visit.

Complete quizzes or sign up for additional sites through referral links to earn extra payouts.

It might not sound like much, but basically, every 12 receipts gives you a Dollar Tree freebie ($1.25).

10. Remember that you can combine most of these rebate apps to stack your earnings.

  • $1 off Colgate manufacturer coupon from the KCL coupons page

  • $1 Checkout51 rebate on Colgate toothpaste

  • $0.20 Ibotta rebate on any grocery purchase

  • $2 Coupons.com rebate on Colgate toothpaste

  • $0.10 on the CoinOut app

  • 25 points on Fetch Rewards

  • 25 points on ReceiptPal

Boom! Right there you have a free tube of toothpaste, $3.30 on your rebate apps, plus 50 points to use for gift cards in your other apps.
