But this only goes for certain packages and services. For example, Priority Mail Express shipments are delivered on Sundays. If you need a package delivered overnight, Priority Mail Express is the mail service you want. It’s the fastest domestic USPS service offering next-day to 2-day delivery by 6 p.m., 365 days a year, including Sundays and holidays. The USPS guarantees delivery by 6 p.m. on the designated date, even Sundays.

Some First-Class packages find their way to doorsteps on Sundays during the holidays, too. As they have done for years, USPS expands their Sunday delivery during the last few weeks of the year in some locations with a high volume of packages. With Priority Mail Express and an additional fee, you can even get a package delivered ON Christmas (select locations).

Priority Mail Express envelopes ship with a flat-rate pricing that starts at $28.75. What can you ship for that? The USPS has a motto “if it fits, it ships.” Here’s a look at the size envelopes the USPS offers for flat-rate shipping via Priority Mail Express:

  • 12-1/2″ x 9-1/2″ Flat Rate Envelope, $28.75
  • 15″ x 9-1/2″ Legal Flat Rate Envelope, $28.95
  • 12-1/2″ x 9-1/2″ Padded Flat Rate Envelope, $29.45

The flat-rate pricing means whether you’re sending a single document or heavier items like books, the rate will be the same, no matter the weight or distance.

For larger items that require a box, Priority Mail Express pricing will vary based on the item’s weight and distance.
