Walmart Health is another new way Walmart is keeping its competitive edge with Amazon. Just this month, the mega retailer launched Walmart+, their new subscription service that rivals Amazon Prime. And this week Walmart just announced plans to open at least seven new Walmart Health clinics within the next year.

This means you’ll be able to get your teeth cleaned or speak to a counselor while your partner shops for groceries next door. Best part? Services start at just $15 — no insurance needed.

Look for Walmart Health clinics in Georgia, Arkansas, Florida, and Chicago — for now.

The first Walmart Health clinic opened just a year ago in Dallas, Georgia and saw huge success, which prompted Walmart to quickly open four more locations in Georgia and one in Arkansas this past year.

Walmart’s goal is to offer convenient, quality, low-cost care to communities where few primary care options are available. They have plans to open new locations in the greater Atlanta, GA and Jacksonville, FL areas by the end of 2021 and open two Chicago clinics this fall. That would mean at least 13 total clinics by the end of 2021. At that rate, you may see a clinic in your area sooner than you think.

Clinics are attached to Walmart stores and share a parking lot, but also have a separate, private entrance for patients.

Walmart Health clinics offer urgent care, labs, dental, counseling, optical, and more.

Whoa. So I can get a cut stitched up AND my teeth cleaned all in one place?!

Yep.

Walmart Health clinics are pretty big and range from 5,200 – 8,800 square feet. And they don’t just have exam rooms; clinics also include larger rooms where free yoga classes and community events take place. Clinics are staffed by dentists, doctors, counselors, nurse practitioners, and optometrists.
