After its successful test in Dec. 2022, Taco Bell is releasing the Cheesy Jalapeno Mexican Pizza nationwide at participating restaurants starting Sept. 7. It’ll have beef and refried beans between two tortilla shells. Then it’s topped with pizza sauce, cheese, nacho cheese sauce, tomatoes, and jalapenos.

Each Cheesy Jalapeno Mexican Pizza is suggested to cost $4.49, but pricing might differ depending on your local Taco Bell. And you’re reading that right, this variety is $1.50 cheaper than a regular Mexican Pizza.

Taco Bell Mexican Pizzas will stay on the permanent menu.

Since their return in Sept. 2022, the Taco Bell Mexican Pizza has remained a staple on the Taco Bell menu. Each pizza will cost you around $5.99 each. It even comes in a veggie version for the same price.

An original Mexican Pizza is built with a flat, tostada-like “crust,” an enchilada sauce base, and either beans or ground beef — topped with a tortilla, sauce, cheese, and tomatoes.

We’re still waiting for the Triple Crunch Mexican Pizza to make its nationwide debut.

In Dec. 2022, Taco Bell tested two different Mexican Pizzas at different locations. While the Cheesy Jalapeno Mexican Pizza is going national, we’re still waiting on the Triple Crunch Mexican Pizza to be made available everywhere. This pizza is a three-layered version of the Mexican Pizza, featuring double the amount of beans and meat. It cost $5.99 during the testing period.

Plus, we’re seeing other Mexican Pizza-like menu items start to spring up in some spots, like Cheesy Chipotle Chicken Flatbread in Charlotte, NC. While these items have not been confirmed for a nationwide release yet, we hope to hear more from Taco Bell HQ soon.

Taco Bell Mexican Pizzas were pulled from the menu in 2020, but returned in 2022.

Fans of the Mexican Pizza saw it disappear in Nov. 2020,. However, when it came back in May 2022, demand was unsustainably high.

According to Taco Bell’s Twitter, the demand for the beloved Mexican Pizza was seven times higher than when it had left the menu — and they ran out of the supplies quickly. Ultimately they stopped selling them for a short time while they better prepared for a full-fledged comeback.
