1. Refer a friend and get a Children’s Place coupon code for $10 off $40.

Get a $10 off $40 The Children’s Place coupon by referring a friend to the store. All you have to do is to visit ChildrensPlace.com and follow the on-screen instructions to refer your friends (the link to the referral form is usually hanging out at the bottom of the screen). You’ll enter your email address, then you’ll get a unique referral ID which you can share anywhere. Anyone who clicks your link will get $10 off their purchase of $40 or more. And once they make that purchase, you’ll get your own $10 off $40 coupon.

The $10 off $40 coupon code you share is valid for only seven days. The $10 off $40 coupon you receive is valid for 30 days.

How to get a Children’s Place $10 off $40 coupon code:

  • Fill out the referral form found at the bottom of The Children’s Place website (enter your email to get a referral link) and share your referral link with a friend who is a new customer.

  • The Friend will receive an email with a Children’s Place $10 off $40+ order coupon that is valid for 7 days after the email receipt. The coupon can be used only once.

  • When the Friend successfully makes a purchase within 7 days, you will receive an email with a $10 off $40+ order coupon that is valid for 30 days after email receipt. The coupon can be used only once.

2. Join their email list for a Children’s Place coupon worth 30% off an order.

Sign up for The Children’s Place emails and receive a 30% coupon. Or, sign up for their text alerts and receive yet another 30% coupon. And yes, you can stack already reduced clearance prices with one of those coupons.

Although both will be valid for 30 days from the day you sign up, I suggest you only choose one to sign up for. That way you don’t “waste” a coupon if you end up not shopping again within 30 days.

Go to this page to choose between email and text.

3. Score 30% off your first purchase when you get The Children’s Place credit card.

Your first perk as a cardholder will be 30% off your first purchase with your My Place Rewards credit card. Only apply if you are really ride or die for TCP and can pay your statement balance in full monthly. The APR on store cards tends to be high, so if you can’t pay your statement in full, you’re likely to rack up interest charges that will negate any savings.

More details on the other benefits of having a TCP credit card below (see tip no. 8).

4. For the best savings, shop clearance from The Children’s Place online.

But not just any clearance… Children’s Place advertises online clearance sales on a daily basis. Resist the urge to shop when discounts are 60-70% off, then stock up when clearance hits 80% off (or more).

I’ve tracked their online sales for the last couple of years and I can confidently tell you that you’ll be able to score 80% off deals at least twice a month.

5. Spend $20+ to get free shipping.

The Children's Place recently changed their 24/7 (no minimum required) free shipping policy. Now, all shoppers, including My Place Rewards members, must spend a minimum $20 to get free shipping. Spend anything less than that and they'll charge you a flat-rate shipping fee of $6.99.

6. If you must shop in store, price match to ChildrensPlace.com.

When you’re doing your The Children’s Place shopping at brick-and-mortar aisles and spot something full price, I don’t care how cute it is — put it down and pick up your smartphone.

If you spot an identical item on The Children’s Place website for a cheaper price, the cashier should be able to mark it down for you.

Shoot for a 50-60% discount on in-season items (during a site-wide sale), and a 70-80% discount on off-season items on clearance.

7. Join My Place Rewards for a Children’s Place Birthday coupon worth 20-25% off.

Register your child(ren) birthday(s) and receive a 20% coupon to use during the month of their birthday. Have a My Place Rewards credit card? Your birthday coupon will be worth 25% instead.

And if you’re really savvy, make each child’s “birthday” coincide with seasonal sale months like March (spring), July (summer), September (fall), and December (winter), because these coupons work on sale and clearance items too.

8. Get a $5 Reward for every $100 spent with My Place Rewards.

Join The Children’s Place My Place Rewards and earn one point for every $1 spent. Reach 100 points and you’ll be issued a $5 reward.

My Place Rewards credit card holders will rack in the points twice as fast, and earn a $5 reward for every $50 spent. If you shop at The Children’s Place a lot, the extra perks might be worth the hassle of adding one more credit card to your wallet.

Keep an eye out for Bonus Point Events when members will get double and cardholders will get triple rewards points on every purchase.

Note that My Place Rewards certificates are always applied before any other coupons or discounts.

9. Place Bucks promotions are back, and they’re the best time to shop.

The Children’s Place stopped running Place Bucks promotions amid the pandemic, putting the whole shebang on hold for a couple years. But they’re ba-ack. The current Place Bucks promotion is going on through Mar. 31, 2024.

You get one $10 Place Bucks coupon for every $20 spent, and during the redemption period, you’d save $10 for every $20 spent. There is no limit to the number of Place Bucks coupons per order.

Then, during Double Place Bucks events, you get two $10 Place Bucks coupons for every $20 spent. In both cases, Place Bucks can not be earned or redeemed on the purchase of gift cards.

10. Promotions can be earned and redeemed across sister brands.

11. Keep an eye out for Surprise Children’s Place Rewards.

I recently snagged a pair of shoes for under $1 thanks to a Surprise Reward. I found a pair of ballet flats on clearance for $5.99 (80% off the regular price of $29.99), applied the $5 Surprise Reward, and paid only $0.99 shipped.

Surprise Rewards are randomly issued to select shoppers. In my case, I was told I was 49 points way from my next reward so they gave me bonus points to get me there faster. I wouldn’t have known about the Surprise Reward had I not signed up for The Children’s Place emails, so I recommend checking your inbox at least once a week.

12. Get a $10 coupon when you purchase $50 in Children’s Place gift cards.

Look for promos where you can get a free $10 gift card when you spend $50 in gift cards. When this promotion is live, it usually runs for a couple of months at a time. That’s the perfect time to stock up on gift cards you’ll use to buy next year’s school clothes.

During the holidays, they’ll also run a Spend More, Get More Event, where you’ll get a $10 coupon with a $50 gift card purchase, a $15 coupon with a $75 purchase, and a $20 coupon with an $100 purchase.

Unfortunately, you cannot earn Place Bucks on gift card purchases when you’re doing your The Children’s Place shopping, but you should definitely check out these gift card hacks that you should be using.

13. Children’s Place price adjustments are only valid on full-price purchases only.

Price adjustments can only be processed with a receipt. Requests are only honored when items are purchased at full retail price and if the merchandise is discounted within seven days after the original purchase date.

Sale and discounted items aren’t eligible for price adjustments, so if the item you bought for 60% off the regular price is now 80% off, your best bet will be to return it and re-purchase it at the lower price.

Having a hard time getting retailers to budge? Take a look at these sneaky ways to get a price adjustment.

14. The Children’s Place return policy allows you to return online purchases to a local store.

The Children’s Place return policy doesn’t cover shipping fees for returned items. So, skip the shipping costs and return it to a store near you.

You can only return unwashed and unworn items, within 45 days of the purchase date. Items must also have the price tags attached and accompany a receipt.

15. The Children’s Place clothes are also sold on Walmart.com & Amazon.

Did you know you can do your The Children’s Place shopping on Amazon and Walmart.com? Next time you’re restocking your kid’s wardrobe, make sure to look for deals at those retailers, as well.

16. Skip calling Children’s Place customer service and talk to an in-store associate instead.

Their phone line is notoriously aggravating. Expect long periods of time spent on hold, and a not-super-helpful person once you get through. Sorry, TCP, but it’s true.

If the issue is big, head into your local TCP store to get one-on-one service from an employee. You can return online orders to the store, and they’ll likely be more helpful to you!

If you must call, read our call center tips before you dial to ensure you get what you want fast.

17. With so many Children’s Place deals, there’s no reason to pay more than about $5 for any item

To make The Children’s Place shopping an easier task for you, we put together a “stock-up” price list so you’ll never overpay. For the best possible deals, you’ll want to stay at or under the prices listed below.
