My family loves ice cream cake, but it’s a pricey dessert. Luckily, I have an at-home ice cream pie recipe that you can make this Thanksgiving for just $7.49. It’s so simple and only takes a few minutes.
You can also save on Breyers ice cream for the holidays. Clip a new digital coupon to save $2 when you buy two 48-ounce tubs at your local retailer. This offer is valid at retailers nationwide. If you're a Kroger shopper, you can get two tubs for $5.99 each after the coupon.
With Thanksgiving coming up, it’s perfect timing to grab a deal on ice cream since I always serve Breyers vanilla ice cream with apple pie, and pair Breyers chocolate ice cream with pecan for dessert. Plus, I’ll save even more by using my kids’ leftover Halloween candy as the topping for this ice cream pie. Here’s the fool-proof recipe:
Breyers Ice Cream Pie - Serves 8
Ingredients:
6-oz Kroger chocolate pie crust – $1.50
48-oz tub of Breyers Cookies & Cream ice cream – $5.99
Leftover chocolate-flavored Halloween candy – $0
Instructions:
Remove the Breyers Ice Cream tub from the freezer and let it soften.
While it’s thawing, get your toppings ready. (If it’s fun size candy bars or cookies, you’ll want to chop them up.)
Once the ice cream is soft enough to be easily scooped, spoon all of it to fill your pie crust.
Add the toppings (my kids love doing this part) and put it back in the freezer until it’s ready to serve.
Note: If you’re planing on making this more than a few hours in advance, cover it with plastic wrap to keep it fresh and avoid freezer burn!
