New free things crop up every day, and I’m constantly rounding up the best of them.

These freebies are my old faithfuls. Restaurants offer these free things year after year, comping treats for every occasion you can think of including some of our favorite national days.

NOTE: Deals can vary by location. Check with your local restaurants and stores to see if they are participating.

January

January 1: Free Coffee at Sheetz Stores

Who doesn’t need some coffee on the morning of January 1?

  • Sheetz stores offer free coffee from 4:00 p.m. on New Year’s Eve through 4:00 p.m. the next day. No coupon necessary.

 

January 19: National Popcorn Day

Every year, venues across the country honor National Popcorn Day.

  • Regal Cinemas offers a 15% off monthly coupon for popcorn and other snacks.
  • AMC Theatres run different offers throughout the year to save on your popcorn purchase.
  • Harry & David offers different coupons like 20% off, $10.00 off or free shipping.
  • Popcorn Factory has a promo code for free shipping on online orders.

 

February

February 6: National Frozen Yogurt Day

  • TCBY offers all customers the first six oz. of yogurt free.
  • Sweet Frog offers a BOGO free deal.

 

February 9: National Bagel Day

 

February 9: National Pizza Day

Yes, this date has been graced with two food holidays.

  • Pizza Hut sells large pizzas for $10.99 with a promo code.
  • Papa John’s offers any large specialty pie for $12.00.
  • Domino’s offers a large or pan-sized three-topping pizza for $7.99 when you order online and pick up in store.

 

February 14: Valentine’s Day

Several companies offer BOGOs every year for Valentine’s day. If you and your sweetie are looking to share some love on the cheap, check out these annual promos.

  • BOGO beverages at Starbucks.
  • BOGO Qdoba entrees for kissing someone in front of the cashier. (Don’t kiss any strangers now!)
  • Kids eat free at McAlister’s Delis.

 

March

March 14: International Pi Day

As a riff on “pi,” the mathematical constant represented by the number 3.14, many restaurants give away free dessert pies or pizzas.

  • Village Inn offers $2.00 off any whole pie.
  • Whole Foods offers $3.14 off any large pie from the bakery or take and bake pizza.
  • Cici’s has a competition for a $10.00 gift card.
  • Blaze Pizza has pizzas for $3.14 when you download the app.
  • Papa John’s offers 25% off one regular price menu item.

 

Shrove Tuesday/”Fat Tuesday”: National Pancake Day (the day before Ash Wednesday, sometimes this holiday falls in February)

 

April

April 3: Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry’s

 

April 6: National Burrito Day

  • Chipotle, Moe’s and Taco Bell all celebrate on April 6. Track all the National Burrito Deals right at that link.

 

April 14 (Varies): Wawa Day

  • Every year, Wawa celebrates its mid-April birthday by giving out free coffee.

 

April 22: Earth Day

 

April 26: National Pretzel Day

 

April 28: National Super Hero Day

  • Get a dozen Krispy Kreme free donuts with a purchase of a dozen donuts.

 

May

May 2 (Varies): Carvel National Cone Day

  • Every year, Carvel kicks off the spring season with Cone Day. This year, get a junior cone filled with chocolate, vanilla or cookie butter soft serve for $0.85.

 

May 5: Cinco de Mayo

  • Moe’s Southwest Grill usually offers a freebie for their first 50 customers.
  • Baja Fresh usually offers freebies like a free churro or free chips and guac with purchase.
  • DoorDash and GrubHub usually promote the occasion with coupons for food delivery.
  • You can count on drink specials at almost any bar!

 

May 14 (Varies): Free Cone Day at Haagen Dazs

  • Haagen Dazs gives a free scoop in a cup, sugar cone or cake cone, usually in early May.

 

May 28: National Burger Day

  • Dairy Queen typically offers a free burger with the purchase of a malt or shake.
  • Ruby Tuesday offers a Burger Jackpot where you can enter to win prizes like a free burger.

 

 

June

First Friday in June: National Donut Day

  • Get Krispy Kreme free donuts for everyone in your family.
  • Dunkin’ will also give you a free donut with every beverage you buy.
  • Participating Walmarts give out free donut and coffee samples.

 

Third Friday in June: National Flip-Flop Day

  • Tropical Smoothie Cafe created this holiday to raise money for Camp Sunshine. Customers wearing flip-flops are treated to a free 16 oz. Sunshine smoothie.

 

July

July 9: Cow Appreciation Day

  • Chick-fil-A offers a free entree when you dress like a cow.

 

July 11: Free Slurpee Day

  • 7-Eleven gives away free small slurpees for all between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. (Get it? 7/11). No frills, no strings, just pick any flavor on location.

 

Third Sunday in July: National Ice Cream Day

  • Carvel offers BOGO ice cream cones.
  • Cold Stone Creamery offers a special promo (usually a BOGO coupon) to their app users.
  • Dairy Queen usually has great promos too; they tend to change it up every year.

 

Third Wednesday in July: National Hot Dog Day

 

August

August 6: National Root Beer Float Day

 

August 24: National Waffle Day

  • Jamba Juice offers sweet Belgian waffles for just $1.00.
  • White Castle offers a free Belgian waffle sandwich with any order.

 

September

September 19: International Talk Like a Pirate Day (Seriously.)

  • Talk like a pirate at Long John Silver’s for a free deep fried Twinkie or dress like a pirate to get a free Fish N’ Fry.

 

September 29: National Coffee Day

October 28: National Chocolate Day

  • Godiva offers a free sample of the G Cube Collection with any order over $25.00 and free chocolate case piece with any in-store purchase.
  • Lindt offers a free gift with purchase when you spend over $25.00 or $50.00 online.

 

October 31: Halloween

In case all that free candy isn’t enough, many restaurants offer food freebies too.

  • Costumed customers get a Krispy Kreme free donut of their choice.
  • From 7:00 – 10:00 a.m., IHOP serves kids 12 and under a free scary face pancake.
  • Old Country Buffet gives children a free meal when they dress up in costume with the purchase of adult entrees.
  • Kids eat free at Mimi’s Cafe with the purchase of an adult entree.
  • Kids also eat free at Cici’s Pizza when they dress up in costume and purchase an adult entree.
  • Outback Steakhouse allow kids to eat free with the purchase of adult entrees.
  • Get a $4.00 burrito, bowl, salad, or tacos at Chipotle when you wear a costume.

November 3: National Sandwich Day

 

November 4: National Candy Day

  • These deals tend to vary a lot by year, but Dylan’s Candy Bar is known to offer free shipping and coupon codes for the occasion.

 

November 16: National Fast Food Day

If you’re trying to find out how to get free fast food, this is the day for you. I kind of can’t believe that this day is really a thing, but freebies nonetheless!

  • McDonald’s offers $1.00 small or medium fries through the app.
  • Burger King offers a few different discounts including 10-piece nuggets for $1.00.
  • Dunkin’ gives out free samples of their caramel iced lattes.
  • Taco Bell offers a $2.00 Beefy Crunch Burrito Duo with a medium fountain drink.
