Who loves Whole Foods, but hates Whole Foods prices and therefore loves Whole Foods sales that much more? (Me!)
I decided to list out all the best Whole Foods sale dates to help you save big money, but I ran into a snag while compiling the list. Because of the pandemic in 2020, Whole Foods made some adjustment to typically reliable sales.
To get a big-picture context for estimating when these sales may fall in the future, I looked at all the sale dates across 2019 – 2021. I could predict the futures of some sales with more certainty than others, so think of these as loose guidelines (not hard, fast rules), and please don’t get mad at me if Whole Foods runs Prime Day in October again.
Be sure to bookmark Whole Foods deals so you hear about it when there’s a reason to shop Whole Foods.
The Whole Foods Supplement Sale is usually in January, but it’s a little MIA right now.
The Supplement Sale is the time of year Prime members can get an additional 25% off supplements like vitamins, probiotics, and protein powder.
In 2018, the Supplement Sale happened over three days during the first week of January. For some reason, in 2019, the sale was in August instead. But that’s OK, because it was back to being in January in 2020.
Weirdly enough, it wasn’t in January (or August!) during 2021. I’m scratching my head at this, wondering if the Supplement Sale is RIP, dead. I don’t know the answer, but I’ll tell you if I hear anything. Download the KCL app and you’ll be the first to know.
Buy someone two dozen Whole Foods roses for $19.99 every February during Valentine’s Day.
Even if that someone is you!
During Valentine’s week in 2019, 2020, and 2021, Whole Foods offered Prime members a whopping two dozen roses for $19.99.
Go ahead and set your clock by this sale!
Don’t miss Whole Foods Beauty Week in March. (Unless you hate deals.)
Like the Valentine’s sale, you can plan on Whole Foods Beauty week being in mid-March.
All Whole Foods shoppers can get 25% off select categories like beauty and skin care. Prime members get an extra 10% off, for a total of 35% off.
Best part about Beauty Week? The uber-affordable beauty bag. It’s the one time you feel like you’re getting Walmart prices, but Whole Foods quality. Starting about mid-sale, Whole Foods offers totes full of full-size and trial-size products. I’m talking $135 worth of Whole Foods beauty items for $20.
You have to be fast to lay hands on one (or two per customer) of these puppies though, because when they’re gone, they’re gone.
School yourself on Whole Foods Beauty Week so you’re ready to shop in March!
Get a 20-stem bunch of tulips for $10 during the Mother’s Day Sale in May.
The dates for the Whole Foods Mother’s Day sale changes every May, depending on when Mother’s Day falls. But you can expect to find 20-stem bunches of tulips for $8.99 – $15, depending on market price.
In 2019, they were $15 a bunch, in 2020, they were $8.99 a bunch, and in 2021, they were $10 a bunch.
And hey, whether you have a mom, you are a mom, or none of the above, get these beauties for your own dang table!
Stock up on all the wine in May during the Whole Foods Summer Rosé sale.
Whole Foods knows that by the end of May, we Prime members are dreaming of beaches or lying poolside, or we’re just overall needing a Rosé fix. (Do we need an excuse?)
Watch as May rounds the corner into June, because in 2019, 2020, and 2021, Whole Foods offered 10 – 12 different Rosé wines for 20% off.
Amazon Prime Day is in July (or June, but hopefully not October again).
As you know, Whole Foods is owned by Amazon and so during Amazon Prime Day, Whole Foods offers more sale prices throughout the store. Watch for 25 – 50% off specific items in categories like produce, meat, and more.
During 2019 and 2020, Whole Foods offered $10 to spend on Prime Day to any Prime members who spent $10 or more in a single transaction leading up to the big day. This didn’t happen in 2021 and was instead replaced by an Amazon credit card offer: Get $150 in gift cards when you sign up for an Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature card.
As for the timing of Prime Day, it’s usually kept quiet until just weeks before it’s slated to happen. October was weird timing for the sale, but we can blame the pandemic for that (it was 2020 when businesses were all dealing with low-stock issues during the summer). Plan to see future Prime Days in the summer, and perk your ears up about mid-June for rumors of an exact date. (You know me, I’ll send alerts through the KCL app!)

Hit up Whole Foods’ Thanksgiving Turkey Sale in November.
Traditionally, Whole Foods offers Prime members a discount on turkeys the week leading up to Thanksgiving. In 2019, it was $0.50 off per pound of turkey (organic or not). So, if you bought a 10-pound turkey, you’d save $5.
But thanks again to the pandemic in 2020, Whole Foods pivoted to a Turkey Insurance offer. So, when you bought a Whole Foods-brand bird, you’d get a $35 gift card in case you ruined, burned, or otherwise bombed making your own turkey.
(Oh hi, huge assumption that we don’t know how to follow a recipe. For those of us who do, we just pocketed that $35 gift card and used it on our next WF run. Hey, free money.)
My prediction is that Whole Foods will be back to some sort of savings per pound on turkeys for Thanksgiving 2021.
Forget candy! All I want for Christmas is Whole Foods’ Cheese Sale.
OK, I’ll take the candy and the cheese, thanks.
The past two years in December, the Whole Foods 12 Days of Cheese Sale has shown up, so you can expect to see it again in 2021.
From December 12 – 23, every day there’s a new cheese listed for 50% off. And you won’t find boring cheeses on the list. These are splurgy cheeses that belong on your holiday charcuterie boards. Here’s what I saw last year:
- Dec: 12: Klare Melk Truffle Gouda
- Dec. 13: Uplands Cheese Company Pleasant Ridge Reserve
- Dec. 14: Mitica Cordobes
- Dec. 15: Cowgirl Creamery Organic Hop Along
- Dec. 16: Caseificio dell’Alta Langa La Tur
- Dec. 17: Sweet Grass Dairy Thomasville Tomme
