Paramount Plus is a streaming platform offered by ViacomCBS that gives you access to popular TV shows, movies, and live sports events. If you’re a student, you can take advantage of a discount on your subscription and enjoy all your favorite content at a lower cost.
This is just one of the many ways you can save money on Paramount Plus. Plus, we’ve kept track of lots of other student discounts and freebies, so if you’re in college and are wanting to save some money, you’ve got an insane amount of options.
Here’s how the Paramount Plus student discount works, how you can get it, and how much you can save.
Verified students get 25% off Paramount Plus.
Students can receive a 25% discount on their monthly or annual subscription to Paramount Plus. The regular price of Paramount Plus is $5.99/month with ads, $11.99/month with no ads. But you can pay for a year at a time to get more than 16% off: $59.99/year for ads, $119.99/year for no ads.
But with the 25% off discount, you’ll pay:
- $4.49/month with ads
- $8.99/month with no ads
- $44.99/year with ads
- $89.99/year with no ads
If you use your student discount to pay for a year at a time, the with-ads subscription would shake out to be $3.75/month, and the no-ads subscription would average $7.50/month — 50% off the regular monthly price. The discount is available for as long as the student’s status remains verified.
You have to be enrolled in an accredited college or university to get the Paramount Plus student discount.
During sign-up, you’ll be asked for student information (name, college, email, birth date). SheerID will validate student status by matching data in their education database. Make sure the information entered is accurate and matches official school records.
If a database match is found, you’ll automatically be verified and will proceed to the payment page. If more info is needed, SheerID will ask you to upload approved student documents for verification. And if you have to send those documents, you’ll get an email within 30 minutes to let you know if you’ve been approved or if additional info is needed.
Note: You have to be enrolled in the current semester to get the discount; if you’re enrolled for a future term, you won’t be able to get the 25% off until that term begins.
Not sure you want to commit just yet? There’s a 7-day free trial.
Paramount Plus is one of the many streaming services offering free access via a free trial. You have to give them your credit card info, but if you cancel before the end of the trial, you won’t have to pay.
There’s no mechanism to get the free trial with the student discount … so if you want to get the trial, you’ll have to sign up as a regular subscriber and then convert your account to a student account before the end of the trial to get the discounted rate.
