When it comes to finding the best Mother’s Day flower deals, timing and location are everything. The closer we get to Mother’s Day, the higher prices will climb. Like a lot of other everyday essentials, prices have gone up for flowers. So don’t be too shocked when you see the higher price tags in stores this year. However, you can still find affordable flowers if you shop at the right places.
For a simple bundle of tulips, you want to aim for around $0.49 to $0.80 per stem. For a bundle of roses, aim for less than $1 per stem. You can find these prices at Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Aldi, and Walmart pretty easily, although flowers do sell fast. Try not to spend more than $25 for a small mixed-stem arrangement (around 20 stems) or $40 for a large mixed-stem arrangement (40 – 50 stems).

The Best Mother’s Day Flower Deals You Can Get Now
1. Whole Foods offers 15-stem tulip bouquets for $9.99, or $0.67 each.
When you do the math, this yearly deal asks that you only pay $0.67 per tulip. Note that this deal is for Prime Members only, valid from May 10 through May 16. You can only find this deal in-store at Whole Foods, and you have to prove your Prime membership.
Also, every year, Whole Foods runs a deal on 20-stem fresh tulip bunches ($15.99, Amazon). So if you want a fuller bouquet, the deals are still good at under $1 per stem or $0.79 per tulip to be exact.
Most of Whole Foods’ flower deals will come out to under $1 per stem, including irises ($0.80 each, Amazon) and pom mums ($0.71 each, Amazon). Want roses? You can get a 12-stem bouquet ($14.99, Amazon) for just under $15, but you’d pay $1.25 per stem.
Whole Foods delivery isn’t free anymore, but Whole Foods pickup is free for Prime members on orders of $35 or more.

2. Trader Joe’s inflates their prices on roses, but it’s still a great option.
A dozen roses ($9.99, Trader Joe’s) used to have an everyday price of $6.99, and they’d inflate the price to $9.99 on Mother’s Day. But in 2023, you’ll notice that $9.99 is Trader Joe’s new everyday price, even throughout the holidays. So while it’s a bummer that the price went up, you’re still getting a good deal all year round at $0.83 per stem.

3. Aldi’s tulip bunches come out to $0.49 per stem.
If you don’t have Whole Foods or TJ’s nearby, stop by Aldi where their 10-stem tulips are just $0.49 per stem. My store has pink, yellow, and white bunches available. Consider picking up one of their mixed floral bouquets — they beat out Target’s price! Note that you can only find this deal in-store. Another option? Check out Aldi’s rose ice cream cones for $3.99 — a tasty treat.
If you want something a little fancier Aldi also offers bouquets with multiple flower types, as well as premium bouquets. These start at $9.99.
4. At Kroger’s via Uber Eats, buy mom flowers as low as $0.92 per stem, plus get a great deal on sushi.
Now through May 19, Kroger customers can shop Bloom Haus bouquets and sushi selections via Uber Eats. Deals include 50% off your next Bloom Haus order of $25 or more, at up to $30 off. Just use code MOMDAY50 at checkout.
5. Find $5 rose bouquets at Walmart.
You don’t have to spend more than $5 on a bunch of roses ($4.97, Walmart) at Walmart. You can get their 5-stem fresh-cut bouquet for just $4.97, or $0.99 per stem. If we’re focusing on the total price, this is the best deal you can get on roses.
A dozen roses at Walmart costs $9.97, or $0.83 per stem, and it’s one of the best prices per rose. These usually sell out pretty fast, so you’ll want to shop as soon as possible. Note that this deal is in-store only.
6. Get 50 roses for only $49.98 delivered at Sam’s Club ($1 per rose).
For Mother’s Day, you can get 50 Member’s Mark Roses for just $49.98 delivered, which breaks down to just $1 per rose. Sam’s Club recommends ordering by May 11 to ensure delivery by Mother’s Day. This deal is only available online while supplies last.
7. Get the “Best Mom Ever Bouquet” at Costco for $49.99 delivered.

2. UrbanStems runs a “Double Your Discount” promotion in May.
UrbanStems bouquets are pricier than your average grocery store bundle — they usually range from $48 to $176. Granted, the bouquets ship overnight and are much larger than a 10-stem or dozen bouquet. However, they offer a Double Your Discount promo in April and May, perfect if you want to place orders for Easter and Mother’s Day.
Just use the code SHOWERS for 20% off your order. You can use the code twice, once in April and once in May. Hence the name: you’re effectively doubling the savings.
3. 1-800-Flowers offers floral bundles with roses, candles, and lotion.
Delivering flowers is always a good choice, but a floral gift basket is even better. You can opt to deliver Mom a potted plant with budding roses, alongside a Yankee candle, and/or a Camille Beckman hand lotion. The cheapest option is of course the smaller arrangement of just roses on sale for $29.59, but the largest basket is on sale for $59.19.
4. Celebrate Mom month after month with a flower subscription.
If you feel like one bouquet just isn’t enough for your mom, consider a monthly bouquet subscription box. Each month you get 30-35 stems in an artist-designed arrangement. Those can easily be split up into three separate bouquets. Pro tip: get the box delivered to you, then split up the flowers as presents for multiple people. 1. Target’s dozen roses are the worst price per stem among Mother’s Day flowers. Opt for their $4.99 mini succulents instead.
I found a dozen roses for $15.99 in-store at Target or a whopping $1.33 per stem. On a positive note, it’s not a total price gouge compared to the $19.99 bouquets they offer on Valentine’s Day. Note to self: don’t shop for last-minute flowers at Target.
Skip Target’s Mother’s Day flower bouquets and get Mom live succulents instead. Last year, we found mini succulents starting at just $4.99, and large sizes for $9.99. Each one comes in its own pot. These deals are in-store only.
2. You could usually find hanging Mother’s Day flower baskets for just $8 at Lowe’s.
You won’t find these deals happening until early May, but you can save a lot by opting for hanging flower baskets instead of buying a traditional bouquet. Lowe’s will often promote this deal in-store only. Don’t forget that you can also get a FREE Mother’s Day annual for mom at Lowe’s — registration is open now. 3. Aldi offers succulents and other potted plants for as low as $4.99.
For a nontraditional option, consider these potted plants at Aldi. They come in unique containers such as decorative cans and mugs designed specifically for Mother’s Day. (Bonus: if the plant dies, Mom will still have a keepsake!) Prices start at $4.99 for succulents and go up to $12.99 for orchids.
