Halloween food deals are everywhere in October. Next year, you can expect the spooky season to start off with McDonald’s Halloween Buckets and McDonald’s Halloween Treats Packs (coupon books). Just like the Wendy’s Book Books, this $1 - $5 coupon book (prices vary by location) can save you money on McDonald’s treats, hamburgers, and more.
These coupons have been selling at select locations for years (we’ve seen reports of people picking them up as long as 14 years ago), but not every location has them or participates in the deal.
So while we wait for the McDonald's Halloween Treats Packs to drop in September 2025, here's a look at how many freebies you’ll get, when they expire, and restrictions for these coupons.

Prices and local participation may vary.
The McDonald’s Halloween Treats Pack costs $1 - $5 and will get you more than $22 in freebies.
The McDonald’s Halloween Treats Pack is an extremely rare deal that's only available at participating McDonald’s. Depending on the McDonald’s location, you’ll be able to pick up your Halloween Treats Pack for $1 - $5, making this one of the best non-candy Halloween treats you can get.
Each Halloween Treats Pack comes with 12 coupons (four different coupons, and you’ll get three of each coupon) that'll get you a dozen freebies (worth around $22). The Halloween Treats Pack includes three coupons for each of these menu items:
Free Small Vanilla Cones (reg. $2.39 each)
Free Apple Juice or Milk Jugs (reg. $1.19 each)
Free Hamburgers (reg. $2.69)
Free bags of Apple Slices (reg. $0.99)
KCL predicts the McDonald's Treats Packs will return on Sept. 16, 2025.
In 2025, our team predicts the McDonald's Treats Pack coupons will come to select locations on Tuesday, Sept. 16. You won't be able to use them until Oct. 31 (more on that later).
How we make our prediction:
Release date Sept. 17, 2024
Release date Sept. 18, 2023
Release date Oct. 2, 2022
Only kids 12 and under can redeem the coupons from the Treats Pack.
Don't think about stockpiling these coupon books for yourself. Only kids 12 and under can claim these coupons, and you’ll only be able to claim one freebie per child, per visit.
If you're unable to find these coupon books, there are so many other ways to grab kids eat free meals.
You’ll only be able to use the coupons in the book from Oct. 31 - Dec. 31.
If you’re expecting to redeem your coupon as soon as you purchase them, you'll have to wait until Halloween. These coupons can only be redeemed on Halloween or after and will expire on Dec. 31.
Wendy’s Boo Book vs. McDonald’s Halloween Treats Pack: Who Wins?
Both the Wendy’s Boo Books and the McDonald’s Halloween Treats Packs have cheap price tags for a booklet full of discounts on food and sweets. But the winner is McDonald's if you can score the coupon book for $1. With the $1 coupon booklets, you'll save 95% — getting around $22 in freebies. Some McDonald's locations are selling the booklets for $3, which makes it only an 86% savings — not as good of a deal as the 94% savings with the Wendy's Boo Books.
Here’s the breakdown:
McDonald’s Halloween Treats Packs — Savings Up to 86% - 95%
3 free Small Vanilla Cones (reg. $2.39 each)
3 free Apple Juice or Milk Jugs (reg. $1.19 each)
3 free Hamburgers (reg. $2.69)
3 free bags of Apple Slices (reg. $0.99)
You spend $1 - $5 for around $22 in value.
Wendy’s Boo Books — Savings Up to 94%
5 free Jr. Frostys (reg. $2.19 each, a $10.95 discount)
$1.99 Kids' Meal (reg. $5.49, a $3.50 discount)
You spend $1 for $16.44 in value.
Note that local prices will determine if the Wendy's Boo Books or McDonald's Halloween Treats Packs is the better deal.
