Gap Black Friday is always a simple affair. It’s almost always a straight percentage off, with a Cyber Monday discount that outshines whatever is offered during the Black Friday sale. This was true for the 2022 Gap sale, and it was also true for the 2023 sale. This year’s Gap Black Friday deals hit in-store and online on Monday, Nov. 20 with 40% off everything. By Thanksgiving, everything was slashed further to 50% off at check out. The only things that weren’t 50% off? Deals that were already marked 60% off.

And the deals only got better from there. In our opinion, Gap Cyber Monday is really where it’s at for the biggest discounts, but you’re taking a risk with lower inventory since it’s at the tail end of the Black Friday sale. We saw 60% off for the Cyber Monday sale, plus an additional 20% off for a whopping 80% off everything — not just final sale items.

In a nutshell, the early sale is the time to shop if you might not survive if something specific sells out. Pounce on Thanksgiving if you think you’ll lose sleep over missing a deal. And if you just want to score the best of the best Gap prices, wait until their Cyber Monday sale to shop.

Here’s everything we know about their Black Friday sale and how to shop Gap sales to get the best deals possible.

KCL predicts the next Gap Black Friday Sale will begin Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024.

Gap-Black-Friday

Gap hasn’t officially announced the next date for their Black Friday sale, but based on what they've done in recent years, we here at KCL predict that it’ll take place between Thursday, Nov. 28, and Black Friday, Nov. 29, 2024.

How do we make our prediction?

Gap tends to keep it short and sweet with their Black Friday sales, running for two days: only on Thanksgiving and Black Friday. We anticipate they’ll follow that pattern again in 2024.

Will Gap stores be closed on Thanksgiving 2024?

Yes, Gap closes their brick-and-mortar stores on Thanksgiving Day, but that doesn’t mean you have to stop shopping. Gap.com is always open.

What time does Gap open on Black Friday?

Plan to hit up Gap on Black Friday at 8 a.m. In the past, this is when stores have opened, but double-check your local store, especially if it’s inside a mall. It may be subject to mall opening hours in that case.

But if all you’re interested in is a really, really good deal, wait for the Gap Cyber Monday event. . . see below!

In 2024, Gap Cyber Monday will likely start Monday, Dec. 2, and end at 11:59 p.m. PT on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

3. Does Gap allow coupons on Black Friday?

Gap is very careful not to offer any valid coupons during Black Friday because their percentage-off discount is so steep, so it’s not something you’ll likely have to deal with. Check the coupon start and expiration dates and you’ll notice there isn’t any overlap with the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.

4. Spending less than $50? Use free store pickup to avoid paying for shipping.

During Black Friday, you can get free shipping with any purchase of $50 or more. If your total doesn’t quite reach that amount, opt for free store pickup if possible. You’ll have up to five days to pick your order up, which means you can avoid all the Black Friday traffic if you want to.

5. Or get completely free shipping during Gap Cyber Monday.

Again, you risk items being picked over, but another benefit to shopping Cyber Monday at Gap is that they typically offer free shipping with no order minimum.

6. Load up on $4 cozy socks for stocking stuffers.

You’ll see a number of “doorbuster” deals at Gap, including $4 cozy socks, $20 sweaters, $15 pajamas, etc. These aren’t eligible for the extra-percent-off discount during Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Of these deals, the $4 cozy socks are the best value.

7. Shop Gap sale items for the deepest discounts.

Sure, you can get $79.95 jeans for just under $40 with the 50% off Black Friday discount, and that’s great. But why not do better? Shop Gap.com and tap on “Sale.” There you’ll find tons of stuff with markdowns. Apply your 50% off to the already-reduced sale prices for the absolute best value! This goes for Cyber Monday sales too. When a store says “sitewide” in a promotion, always hit the sale and clearance sections first.

8. Gap Factory stores are excluded from Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.

Unfortunately, you can’t shop at Gap Factory stores and get the Black Friday discount or the Cyber Monday discount. It only applies to Gap, GapBody, GapKids, and GapBaby. But the Gap Factory usually runs their own Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals that you can take advantage of. The sales are similar, usually around 50% off storewide, but you can score some really cheap stuff on top of already discounted Factory prices.
