I’m a skeptic when it comes to using free rewards apps. I’ve tried and given up on a bunch of them, feeling bothered by the time it takes to rack up real savings. But users say they’ve had success with one app in particular: the Fetch Rewards app.

If you don’t know how the Fetch app works, it gives you points for uploading your shopping receipts — paper or digital. You can then redeem points for free gift cards to stores like Amazon, Starbucks, CVS, Ulta Beauty, and more. The app also gives you points for playing games and referring friends to sign up, so you don’t always have to buy something to save.

When KCL wants the inside scoop, we go straight to the source. So to find out how legit the Fetch Rewards app is, we reached out to real people who use it. If these Fetch success stories convinced me to download the app, just wait until you hear them for yourself. If you're convinced and download the Fetch app, use the code KCL to receive 1,000 points for free.

Meet Jenn, a 39-year-old nurse who racks up $100 in Fetch gift cards each year.

You don’t have to quit your day job to save big with Fetch. Just ask Jenn B., a working nurse and mother who saves thousands of dollars by using the app. So far this year, she’s earned enough points to redeem $89 in gift cards — and her balance is still growing.

“The ability to rack up points just by scanning receipts has completely changed how I approach everyday spending," she says. "I even introduce people I meet at the grocery store to Fetch.”

Jenn earns her Fetch points by shopping at Kroger, Sam’s Club, Walmart, and Target. And if she can double dip on store rewards and Fetch points on a single purchase, it’s a double win.

“I’ve bought back-to-school supplies, restocked everyday essentials, and scored my favorite skincare products from Amazon," she says. "But one of my favorite redemptions is gift cards for Home Depot and Lowe’s. Those helped me tackle home improvement projects without breaking the bank.”

But Jenn is more than a Fetch super-user. In fact, she created the Fetch Rewards App Group on Facebook to share tips and help others save more with the app. Today, her Facebook group has nearly 160,000 loyal followers.

Jenn’s best advice to Fetch users is to refer as many friends as possible. You get points for referring friends, and those who sign up with your referral code get points too.

Meet Matt, a 46-year-old father who uses Fetch to boost his family’s food budget.

Location: Maryland, USA

Fetch Points: 42,928 (Current)

Matt G. is the definition of a smart shopper. His family of four has a strict food budget of $500 a month. But with the Fetch app, he can stretch their monthly budget by at least $50.

“I only shop at the big name supermarkets if there is a coupon or if Fetch has a super good deal," he says. "I don’t look at it as money saved because I have to spend money to get the points. I’m just careful to only buy what I need and then cash in my points when they fully mature.”

Matt’s go-to stores are Amazon and Aldi, where he shops for most of his family’s needs. He always uploads his receipts to the Fetch app, but he earns most of his points by playing games.

This allows him to redeem at least one $50 Amazon gift card each month.

“I was super slow to earn points until they added the games," he says. "I don’t have a ton of time. But when I do, I play games. So I figured I might as well get paid for them.”

Meet Kathy, a 50-year-old shopper who uses Fetch to save on her favorite Amazon items.

Location: New Hampshire, USA

Fetch Points: 5,000 (Current)

Kathy L. doesn’t take her Fetch savings too seriously. If anything, it’s just another way to spend less on the things she loves.

Instead of going out of her way to earn points, Kathy shops at her regular stores, like Market Basket, Walmart, and Hannaford. She then uploads her receipts to the Fetch app until she has enough points to cash out.

“I just buy my normal things and get points this way," she says. "I like to use my points on Amazon.”

By earning Fetch points on the items she needs, Kathy can redeem gift cards towards the items she wants.

“I can get Amazon gift cards about every six months or so, depending on how many receipts I have," she says. "They are usually $10 each time, and I usually buy books or things for my cat.”
