Costco fans, your wish has been granted. After watching competitors introduce grocery pickup — including Sam’s Club — Costco has started to roll out curbside pickup of their own.
The warehouse store is using their partnership with Instacart to make this begged-for feature a reality. Might soothe the sting of losing Costco’s Photo Centers forever.
Here’s what you need to know:
Costco has introduced same-day pickup at a few locations.
The three Albuquerque-area warehouses are the first test cases for Costco Same-Day Pickup.
Members may place their orders via Instacart at sameday.costco.com, where they can select the “Pickup” order option.
Then they select an hour pickup window, and they’ll park in a reserved parking spot at Costco during the scheduled time.
Getting a pickup order will cost you $10.
These orders — which are assembled by Costco employees — must total a minimum of $100, and each one comes with a $10 fee, regardless of amount.
Of course at Costco, $100 is pretty easy to spend.

And don’t forget — Costco offers delivery for EVERYONE via Instacart.
Costco offers three ways to shop: Standard and Two-Day Delivery with CostcoGrocery.com (for members only) or Same-Day Delivery powered by Instacart — for which you don’t have to be a Costco member.
Non-Costco Members pay Costco a $3.99 fee per Instacart order, on top of Instacart’s $3.99 – $7.99 per delivery fee.
Beware, though — Instacart’s Costco prices can be more expensive than in store.
Sam’s Club and BJ’s Wholesale Club have free curbside pickup.
While Costco hasn’t said if or when they’d roll out curbside pickup to additional cities, you can already get free curbside pickup at Costco’s competitors — Sam’s Club and BJ’s Wholesale.
Unlike the Costco service, Sam’s Club and BJ’s don’t charge extra for pickup.
