Looking for ways to save this summer on staples like sunscreen? At The Krazy Coupon Lady, we're always tracking the best sunscreen coupons, and you can look for savings at your local CVS on Coppertone sunscreen all summer long, including on their new products: Coppertone Sport Face SPF60+ ($12.99) and Coppertone Every Tone Face SPF 55 ($13.99).
Check out why I prefer Coppertone sunscreen, my top tips for couponing at CVS, and how you can save big there all summer long.
1. I trust Coppertone to help protect my family’s skin from the sun — and CVS has an option for everyone to choose from.
If you search Coppertone on CVS.com, you’ll find dozens of different sprays, lotions, and sticks, each formulated for different kinds of sun protection. Since we’re all really active, my family swears by their Sport line because it resists sweat and provides 80 minutes of water resistance. And because we also have fair skin, we use higher SPFs. But Coppertone sunscreens range from SPF15 all the way up to SPF100. And while I’m most excited to try their two new facial sunscreens, they also have lines for babies and kids, and even offer travel size options that you can take through TSA. Use and reapply as directed.
I always make sure I have Coppertone sunscreen all summer long in my bag, for going to the beach or for a walk around my neighborhood. While Coppertone Sport is my go-to for activities, Coppertone Complete is my pick for the whole family.
2. Download the CVS app and check it each week for new sales and coupons, including on Coppertone sunscreen.
I always go to the CVS app and plan my list around that week’s sales and offers. They often have $3 or even $5 off digital coupons, and they let you stack one manufacturer’s coupon with their offers. And after you download the CVS app, don't forget to can scan your digital ExtraCare card in the app at checkout. I usually get surprised with offers and savings that are personalized for me, based on the brands I buy the most.
3. Always be on the lookout for ExtraBucks deals and savings.
For instance, right now, CVS is offering $10 ExtraBucks Rewards for spending $20 on Coppertone Sun products. So if I were to buy two 5.5-oz cans of Coppertone Sport Spray in SPF 50 ($11.99), I’d pay $23.98. But since I’d get $10 ExtraBucks back, it’d be like paying just $6.99 per can. That’s a 42% savings. And you'd save even more if you used a manufacturer's coupon, or got an ExtraCare email offer, which brings me to my next tip...
4. Sign up for CVS ExtraCare emails.
Here's a tip: The emails from CVS include various coupons — for example, up to 40% off one full-price item, or $10 off any $30 purchase. I just click "Get Coupon" and it automatically sends it to my ExtraCare card — no printing or clipping necessary.
5. All Coppertone sunscreen is FSA Eligible, which saves you even more at the end of the year.
So many people think that their FSAs (Flexible Spending Accounts) and HSAs (Health Savings Accounts) only cover co-pays and prescriptions. But they also cover sunscreen! This means you'll get the tax you paid on these items back at the end of the year, and that can add up.
