AT&T offers teachers a discount that equals around 25% off the participating plans. This discount doesn’t apply to phone upgrades, device purchases, accessories, or other add-on services. Note that it only applies to a discount on unlimited phone plans up to four lines.

AT&T teacher discount eligibility requirements are pretty clear.

The AT&T teacher discount applies to active and certified K-12 classroom teachers, along with college/university professors and instructors. This discount is only open to U.S. based educators.

Verify your educator status to get the savings.

Fortunately, verifying your educator status to qualify for the AT&T teacher discount is relatively straightforward. Sign up for your plan with the teacher discount in place. Next, you’ll need to submit proof of eligibility within 14 days of activating it using the AT&T teacher verification portal.

Enter your name and contact information. Include the email address issued by an educational institution, like a school or university, to begin the verification process. To complete enrollment, upload supporting documents that are in your name. These will accurately show your active employment.

Eligible documents include employee IDs from a school or university, paystubs dated within the last 30 days, employment letters (written within the last 30 days), or State License/Certification from an educational institution. Your supporting documents should have the same first and last name as the name on your phone plan.

Only certain phone plans qualify for the discount.

AT&T states that only unlimited plans qualify for their teacher discount, so you’re a bit limited in which lines can be considered. Currently, there are three unlimited plans that qualify for the AT&T teacher discount that you can sign up for:

Does AT&T offer a teacher discount to homeschoolers?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that AT&T offers any sort of phone plan discounts to homeschool educators at this time.

With that being said, see if you have the necessary supporting documentation from an educational co-op or institution. If any of this states that you’re certified to teach or employed through an educational organization, it may help you qualify.
