With spooky season around the corner, it’s time to start looking into Amazon Halloween costumes. Being the cheapskate that I am, I’m really focusing on saving on Halloween costumes… without having to DIY anything. (Seriously, if I try to do it myself, I’ll just end up destroying it myself.)
And, unsurprisingly, Amazon has some really good prices on costumes for all ages. If you know how to look, that is. Below are some hot deals happening now, plus my tried and true tricks for getting the best price on Amazon Halloween costumes. This includes the down low on when to shop, how much to expect to pay, and how to sort through the search results to find the good stuff.

Amazon Halloween Costume Deals Happening Now
From Bluey to Mario to Harry Potter, find Halloween costumes on Amazon now for $30 or less. If you have Prime, you can get free, two-day shipping with every order.
Late September is the best time to shop for Amazon Halloween costumes.
Similar to Amazon Halloween candy, you’ll find the lowest prices in late September. Let’s take this bestselling Ghostface costume ($28,13, Amazon) for example. Since different sizes have different prices, let’s look at the OSFA option. Last year, the price bottomed out at $23.55 on Sept. 21, before rocketing to its highest price ($41.98) on Oct. 21.
With this data in mind, don’t wait til the last minute to shop. Aside from the risk of your purchase not arriving on time, it’ll likely be more expensive.

Sorting low-to-high on Amazon isn’t the best way to find the lowest prices.
Amazon sellers sometimes list an item as costing less than a dollar so it’ll show up first when you sort low-to-high. That would be fine and dandy if the product actually cost less than a dollar — but it rarely does.
Instead, the seller will jack up the price of shipping so they still make a profit. For example, this cape is listed as $0.19. But the shipping? That’s listed as $10.99 and isn’t eligible for Prime shipping or Amazon’s free shipping with orders of $25 or more. So really, the cape costs $11.18.
I find the easiest way to get around the misleading shipping costs is to filter by products eligible for Prime shipping. Even if you don’t have Prime, there’s a lot of overlap between items that qualify for Prime and those that qualify for Amazon free shipping with $25 or more spent.
Expect to pay around $6 – $30 for kids’ costumes and $15 – $50 for adults.
Okay so to be fair, the prices can go up to $100 if you want a really intricate officially licensed costume, but the VAST majority are actually less than $30.
For adult costumes, it’s important to note that not everything in the Halloween section is actually a costume. There are options that cost upwards of $100, but those are more for school mascots or cosplays. These products have a lot more detail than a Halloween costume, which is why they cost so much. Instead, the standard price range for a true Halloween costume is between $15 and $50.
Amazon has the lowest prices if you know how to look.
By comparison, Target sells kids’ costumes for anywhere between $15 and $40, depending on the type. (Officially licensed Disney princess costumes can cost as much as $39.99, while a referee costume is only $15.) Target sells complete adult costumes for $25-$35.
Similarly, Walmart sells kids’ costumes for anywhere between $10 and $40. Adult costumes usually start around $10 and can cost as much as $100 (though that’s not common).
If you use the filters for Prime shipping, then sort low-to-high, and ignore any cosplay or mascot items, you’ll be able to find the lowest prices.
