Black Friday sales don't start on Black Friday anymore. Some kick off a week (or more) early. Others begin a few days early. And some online sales drop at midnight. Keeping track of when all the Black Friday sales start is key to getting the best Black Friday deals because some of them sell out quickly.

Black Friday Sales Start and End Dates (2024)
Because our team at The Krazy Coupon Lady always has your back, we’re laying out your schedule for all the top Black Friday sales in 2024.
Retailers have been redefining Black Friday in recent years, rolling out early Black Friday sales and multiple rounds of deals in October and November. To keep things simple, our calendar shows all the predicted start times of official Black Friday sales (in other words, the final rounds of sales that overlap Black Friday itself). For full details on all the early hype, read on to see all our predictions by retailer. We'll update this post as we confirm official details.
Amazon Black Friday Sale
Dates: Nov. 22 – 29 (predicted)
Time: Amazon starts its sales at midnight PT. However, in past years, we've seen early Amazon Black Friday deals appear a few days before the official sale starts.
KCL TIP: Don't forget about Amazon's early holiday sale, Prime Big Deal Days, in October.
Target Black Friday Sale
Dates: We predict four waves of deals, similar to the Black Friday sales at Target last year.
Round 1: Nov. 3 - 9 (predicted)
Round 2: Nov. 10 - 16 (predicted)
Round 3: Nov. 17 - 23 (predicted)
Round 4: Nov. 24 - 30 (predicted), with special deals available on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday only
Time: Expect Target's online deals to land at midnight PT on the day each round goes live, then in stores when they open. On Black Friday, Target will likely open at 6 a.m., just like it did last year.
KCL TIP: Don't forget about Target Circle Week in early October. Plus, Target will run its Deal of the Day promo for Target Circle Members only during Circle Week and through November and December.
Walmart Black Friday Sale
Dates: We predict two waves of deals, like last year at Walmart:
Round 1: Nov. 15 - 23 (predicted)
Round 2: Nov. 27 - 29 (predicted)
Time: Walmart+ members should expect early online sale access. Last year, those with Walmart+ membership got online access at noon ET. Then at 3 p.m. ET, everyone else got online access. But that timing could be different in 2024. We suspect that Walmart will match its timing for its October Holiday Deals event and open up the sale at midnight ET to Walmart+ members and at noon ET to everyone else.
Online deals will likely run the Wednesday and Thursday of each round and launch in stores on Friday.
Be sure to sign up for Walmart+ in advance to get early access, especially if you're after a specific deal (we've seen Walmart's best Black Friday deals sell out quickly in past years).
Macy's Black Friday Sale
Dates: Macy's typically runs an Early Access event with select Black Friday deals available in mid-November followed by a Macy's Black Friday sale that spans the entire week of Thanksgiving. This year, we expect the following:
Round 1 (Early Access): Nov. 15 - 23 (predicted)
Round 2: Nov. 24 - 30 (confirmed! Macy's has revealed the dates on its Black Friday page)
Time: Macy's usually drops its online sales at midnight PT. Deals will drop in stores on the first day of each round when they open. Macy's typically offers extended hours on Black Friday (6 a.m. to 11 p.m. last year).
Kohl's Black Friday Sale
Dates: Kohl's tends to have a busy Black Friday schedule every year in November. Last year, it offered four sale events, including special deals that ran only on Thanksgiving and Black Friday. This year, we expect the following:
Round 1: Nov. 8 - 14 (predicted)
Round 2 (Super Saturdays): Nov. 16 and 23 (predicted)
Round 3: Nov. 24 - 29 (predicted)
Round 4 (Thanksgiving- and Black Friday-only deals): Nov. 28-29 (predicted).
Time: Kohl's online Black Friday deals will likely launch at midnight CT for each round and in stores at opening time. Last year, Kohl's opened at 5 a.m. on Black Friday.
Best Buy Black Friday Sale
Dates: Given Best Buy's sale schedule last year, expect them to have an Early Access event in early November, with Best Buy Total and Plus members getting access first. Then you can expect a sale during Black Friday week.
Round 1 (Early Access): Nov. 1 - 3 for members only, then Nov. 4 for all
Round 2: Nov. 22 - 30
Time: Best Buy usually drops online Black Friday deals at midnight CT. Deals will drop in stores at opening time (they opened at 6 a.m. on Black Friday last year).
JCPenney Black Friday Sale
Dates: JCPenney is one of the more traditional retailers when it comes to Black Friday. While it rolls out some early deals the week of Thanksgiving, it pours most of its hype into its JCPenney Black Friday sale on actual Black Friday. Here's what we expect for 2024:
Nov. 29 (predicted)
Time: Online deals will land midnight CT online and at opening time in stores (5 a.m. last year). Last year, JCPenney offered special in-store-only giveaways that dropped at 5 a.m., 9 a.m., 1 p.m., and 5 p.m.
Home Depot Black Friday Sale
Dates: Home Depot has a unique tradition of running a full month of Black Friday deals.
Nov. 1 - 29 (predicted), but Home Depot will likely offer, as it did last year, select deals that run online only on Thanksgiving and some Thursday through Sunday (online and in stores)
Time: Expect Home Depot Black Friday deals to drop at midnight ET online right when the monthlong sale kicks off, and for the Thanksgiving deals to drop at midnight ET on Thursday. Stores will likely open at 6 a.m. on Black Friday, which is the same time Home Depot opens every day. You'll want to get there first thing if you want the wreaths, poinsettias, and live Christmas trees.
Lowe's Black Friday Sale
Dates: Nov. 28 - Dec. 4 (predicted)
Time: Lowe's Black Friday deals will likely drop online at midnight ET on Thanksgiving and run them until the following Wednesday like last year during the Lowe's Black Friday sale. Expect stores to open at 6 a.m. on Friday.
When is Black Friday 2024?
Black Friday will happen on Nov. 29, 2024, but you’re going to start seeing Black Friday deals the week before Thanksgiving or online on Thanksgiving Day.
The official shopping holiday always falls on the Friday after Thanksgiving, but the exact date is different every year. Here are the Black Friday dates from the last five years:
2023: Friday, Nov. 24
2022: Friday, Nov. 25
2021: Friday, Nov. 26
2020: Friday, Nov. 27
2019: Friday, Nov. 29
What to expect for Black Friday 2024
Sales will start early again this year
We saw early access sales from Macy's, Kohl’s, Best Buy, and Target last year. Some of the earliest Black Friday events kicked off in late October. More and more retailers will release early Black Friday deals into the first and second weeks of November, and you can expect a steady flow of deals for the rest of the month.
Walmart, Amazon, and Target will compete for the lowest prices.
These top three retailers love to battle for the best deals on popular products (think: Apple AirPods, Beats headphones, the Nintendo Switch, and more). KCL will compare prices at these stores throughout the 2024 holiday season, so look for price drops and further markdowns leading up to Black Friday and even the week after.
