The whole “gift-in-a-jar” movement has been going on for years now—and it’s still thriving! Gifts in jars are adorable, thoughtful, and pretty inexpensive to make. Here are some of my favorite ideas!
1. Mason Jar Terrarium
Cambrian Co.‘s terrariums are gorgeous! And they’re pretty easy to make and customize depending on your gift recipient’s tastes and favorite colors. Check out this tutorial for ideas and instructions.
2. Infused Sugar in a Jar
Lavender infused sugar?! That has to be one of the best foodie inventions of all time. I want that lining the rim of my lemonade glass right now. Sugar and Charm‘s presentation is pretty fabulous too!
3. Cleans Up Well Jar
Grab a few of the men’s hygiene products you got for free with coupons and arrange them nicely in a jar. The Gunny Sack included Chap Stick, a homemade sugar scrub, moisturizer, a razor, a couple of mini cologne bottles, shave cream, and a grooming kit in hers.
4. Holiday Gumdrop Pops in a Jar
This is such a whimsical treat for kids! I know my kids would love to help me make these for friends and teachers. Get detailed instructions on Martha Stewart.
5. DIY Chai Candles in Canning Jars
Making your own chai-scented candles is surprisingly simple. Hello Natural will show you how to do it with spices you probably already have in your cupboard!

6. Ice Cream Party in a Jar
Need a family-sized gift idea? This jar by One Good Thing By Jillee is perfect! Stick a few delicious toppings, an ice cream scoop, and some waffle cones in a large jar and voila! You just gave the gift of sweet, sweet happiness!
7. Sewing Kit in a Jar
Throw a few safety pins, sewing needles, spools of thread, a measuring tape, and a small pair of scissors into a mason jar. Then, follow these instructions on Martha Stewart for a built-in pincushion that’s perfect for the crafty person in your life!
8. Aromatherapy Vapor Shower Discs in a Jar
Aromatherapy shower discs in a jar? That’s brilliant! Each shower disc in Bre Pea‘s recipe can be used for two showers and you can use any essential oil scent that you think is most relaxing.
9. Apron in a Jar
What a creative way to share one of your favorite recipes! Pleasant Home easily turns a small gift into something really special. Just stick an apron in a jar and attach a recipe card to the lid.
10. Salted Caramel Sauce in a Jar
I hardly ever buy caramel sauce for dipping or topping, but if someone gave me some for the holidays, I don’t think I’d share any of it. Recipe Girl‘s combination of sea salt, butter, and sugar is supposed to be divine!
11. Nail Kit in Painted Jars
Who said you had to leave the jar you’re gifting transparent? Paint it up really pretty and stuff it with goodies for your best friends.
