If you recently bought pork from Walmart or Aldi, you might want to check your fridge. Around 40,763 pounds of raw, boneless pork products are being recalled because they didn’t get the thumbs-up from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service before hitting shelves.

Now, don’t freak out yet. No one has reported any adverse reactions from chowing down on these pork products. If you’ve got these in your fridge, the government advises you not to eat them. To be safe, toss them in the trash or take them back to where you bought them.

OK, here’s the lowdown on the latest food recall:

Park Street Deli and Marketside pork products are part of this recall — check your packaging.

The three different packages of pork products that are part of a 2023 recall

According to the official announcement, manufacturer Eastern Meat Solutions is responsible for the recall. The raw, boneless pork products were imported from Canada and then processed into microwaveable barbecue pork dishes. The specific products subject to the recall include various types of Aldi’s Park Street Deli and Walmart’s Marketside “ready to heat BBQ pork” products, each packaged in 16-oz plastic containers.

Check your products for these identifiers; if you got ’em, your product is recalled:

Park Street Deli: Sweet Chipotle Boneless Pork Ribs with Sauce

  • Lot # 3115, Use By 07/08/23
  • Lot # 3123, Use By 07/17/23
  • Lot #3114, Use By 07/08/23

Park Street Deli: Hawaiian Style Boneless Pork Ribs with Sauce

  • Lot # 3115, Use By 07/08/23
  • Lot # 3123, Use By 07/17/23
  • Lot #3114, Use By 07/08/23

Marketside: Ready to Heat BBQ Pork Burnt Ends

  • Lot #3116, Use By 08/29/23
  • Lot #3117, Use By 08/30/23
  • Lot #3122, Use By 09/04/23

All of the recalled products have the establishment number “EST. 4800” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

If you have any of the recalled pork products, throw them away or take them back to the store for a refund.

First of all, don’t eat the pork if it’s part of this recall. It hasn’t been properly screened. From there, you can either just throw the pork away — make sure it’s placed in a sealed bag or container to prevent any potential contamination — or take it back to the store for a refund.

Aldi and Walmart both should give you refunds or exchanges without any issue.

And since each package costs about $7 on average, you’ll want that money back.

Tip: If you have any burning questions about this recall, you can reach out to Eastern Meat Solutions directly at customer.service@sierrascs.com. And if you end up having some kind of food reaction, report it online through the Electronic Consumer Complaint Monitoring System.
