Years ago, I found my way to Bath & Body Works hand soaps, but it wasn’t until I learned how to beat that $7.95 price tag that I actually started stocking up. Hint: It helps to know the Bath & Body Work sales calendar, plus our B&BW store hacks.
Here at Krazy Coupon Lady, we sift through dozens of Bath & Body Works deals on a weekly basis, and what we’ve seen tells us there’s never a reason to spend more than $3.95 on Bath & Body Works hand soap. And I’d say aim for under $3 at certain times of year (like their Semi-Annual Sale). I’ll show you how.

When is the Bath & Body Works soap sale?
There isn’t one dedicated just to soaps, but the best Bath & Body Works hand soap sale is The Semi-Annual Sale. No contest. This is a clearance event, so it’s not that surprising that it offers the best price on Bath & Body Works hand soaps. During these two times a year (June and December), soaps tend to drop down to just $2.50 each or less. (I’ve seen them for under $2 before.)
Other than the Semi-Annual Sale, and especially during the spring months, expect to see Bath & Body Works hand soaps discounted frequently. Most common sales are markdowns to $3.50 or $3.95 each.

Want retired scents? Plan to shop BathandBodyWorks.com.
The Bath & Body Works customer service reps I spoke with on the phone told me that stores typically don’t exclude retired soaps from the various sales.
That said, physical stores won’t be carrying retired hand soap fragrances. So, if you want to buy an old favorite, you’ll need to do your soap shopping at BathandBodyWorks.com.

Bath & Body Works Hand Soap FAQ
1. What is the cheapest Bath & Body Works hand soap?
All hand soaps — both foaming cleanser and gel — start at $7.95 full price. A few scents sell for $8.95. And that’s why you want to shop during the Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale (and with coupons!). So you can get hand soap for $3 or less.
2. How do I open Bath & Body Works hand soap?
For the foaming hand soaps, look for the notch and turn the head of the pump until you hear a small click. This happens when the notch is lined up to allow the pump to work. It’s tricky because there’s no arrow to line up with the notch.
Even trickier though is the gel soap. Ideally, you twist the top until it pops up, indicating it’s open. But sometimes, it just won’t pop up. In this case, hold the base of the pump in place while you twist counter-clockwise.
If that doesn’t work, exchange your soap! Some of them just won’t open.
3. Is Bath & Body Works hand soap antibacterial?
No. In 2016, the FDA ordered all antibacterials be removed from hand soap. They couldn’t prove antibacterials to be safe, and didn’t believe it added anything to the soap. As long as you wash with warm water for at least 20 seconds, you should be good.
